They're not interested in getting the message. The dog whistles went out a long time ago and there's no calling them back.
Unless you've spent time around these people, it is almost impossible to really grasp how little understanding they have of factual reality.
I guarantee you they all think the left killed Charlie Kirk. Their whole picture of the world is formed from absolutely insane Republican propaganda. They probably don't even really encounter the "theory" that the assassin was sent by anyone else, but when they do see it in passing, it can be safely discounted like lemmy.ml discounts Wikipedia, because the whole media is a ~~NATO~~ liberal lie machine that's just designed to destroy them. And they all get together with each other and aggressively reinforce to each other the model they've been given. It gives them a warm feeling of belonging, because there is almost no community or brotherhood in American society in the present day, and so they're getting something they need way deep deep down in their soul, from being able to get together and feel like they're on the same team with trusted allies against a genuine threat, and talk together and get amped up facing all in the same direction and feel together.
The left killed Charlie Kirk. Biden stole the election. The planes are crashing because of DEI. Michelle Obama is a man. Kids are peeing in litter boxes at school. The left is doing post-birth abortions, or pushing the babies back up into the mother so they can kill it and call it an abortion. Men are joining women's sports and going into women's bathrooms and saying they're "transgender" and it's a horrifying threat, the little girls are getting beat up when they just want to do sports. Covid was mostly just a bad cold that the pharmaceutical companies made into a big deal, and the vaccine is killing people.
It's just a nonstop avalanche of nonsense, and they all think it's all true. Every word. Another thing that American society has denied to them is a solid grasp on the world outside, an understanding of history and the forces that are shaping their daily lives. They definitely know that the life they live isn't the way it's supposed to be. But they don't really have the critical thinking skills they would need in order to poke holes in this whole explanation they get for why that is (which they get inundated with), and they would pay a punishing social cost if they ever started questioning even the elements that really don't make much sense. But most of it genuinely makes sense to them. They hear it every day at loud, loud volume, and they don't hear much else.
And part of what they know for sure is who to blame: You and me. We ruined the world they worked so hard to build, and now we're openly assassinating their leaders. And so why wouldn't they fight "back"?
They believe the left consists of no one but minorities, lgbtq, and women.
I'm not kidding at all. I can walk right up to these conversations people will have and no one will blink an eye.
But they believe it so much that they will kill other white men who don't conform to the group. That's why Kirk was killed. He was a man that existed outside the in-group and needed to be cleaned up.
All of these takes are plausible, but it's still just pure speculation. He's not a clear indication of either side or sub-group, so until more definitive evidence comes out it only does more damage to make unfounded claims.

Ignore reality. Fight against your perceived threats. The blacks, immigrants, women who stand up to you, and people who make you feel bad.

Absolutely, when white men are being oppressed, it's generally by other white men. So I guess white men are fighting back against other white people. But no that's not it, for some reason they are oppressing minorities of all kinds instead, because skin color and culture scares them. In fact everything scares them, like science and everything based on reason even human rights are scaring them now, so they want to take them away.
Why? Because they are so fucking stupid, they are scared of everything about society, because they understand nothing, and that makes them scared.
You don't have to be white for that, problem is when the majority with all the money and power feel that way, things must have gone completely haywire in that society. They are oppressed by their own, but blame everybody else!!!
Regarding Charlie Kirk specifically, he was white right wing extremist who condoned gun violence, who was killed by another white right wing extremist, who used gun violence to kill him.
What the fuck is it they think they are protesting? They are their own worst enemy, not normal sensible people who actually care about other people. Or what they call "radical left".

The logic is along the lines:
I'm starving and they want to give everybody food. But I don't want everybody to have food, I want more food just for ME!.
And:
They want freedom of religion (normalo people) , but as a right wing extremist I don't want that, I want all religious privileges for MY religion, and none for the others. So I can discriminate them, but they can't discriminate me.
There is no living peacefully with such people, they hate everything that is in any way different from themselves, and they are selfish to a degree they believe they are somehow entitled to have it better than other people.
And the "somehow" is because of their race and their religion which is barely religion, because they have zero actual religious knowledge, it's merely a faith they believe agree with all their own prejudices about the world,and their sense of entitlement.
It's insane that so many humans have such low intelligence. And I'm not talking about learning from books and being good at science, the bigger problem is that any sensible social intelligence is completely gone for very large parts of American society, and we just saw it's a problem in UK too.
Yeah, it's all about in groups and out groups... which is about controlling people by making them part of a group and others not...

You're acting like they feel shame or care about their hypocrisy. If they're knowingly acting in bad faith from the start, there's really only one way to deal with them.
They probably still think the killer is a trans immigrant. Much more convenient than facing reality.

Kirk was outside of the shooter's in group. In Fascism those in the out group need to shut up and get out of the way. It doesn't matter to the shooter that Kirk was an ultraconservative bigoted lunatic, he wasn't conservative enough. Since he was still talking and not getting out of the way, the Fascist believes he has an obligation to fix that problem.
And what's stranger, is that there is no doubt in my mind that Kirk thought the same thing about Fuenes. But they would both agree that if I had any public speaking ability (or any speaking ability for that matter) I would definitely be more important to sanitize first.

As motivation for the killing, what you're saying is correct. But when it comes to protesting in the streets, they're going to go after their usual token minorities, regardless of who did the actual killing. Hence why they're trying real hard to label an obvious groyper as "left-leaning" and pretending he had a trans roommate.
Honest question: Can you please explain how he is an "obvious groyper"? I would like actual evidence, not just vibes. Everyone is saying he's not on their side and he has some characteristics of both, so what are you basing that idea on?
Well, I'm not going to compile you a full list of sources, because that's more retracing of my steps than I have time for.
You would start suspecting something was up pretty early on, when his trumper family stated that he had become "more political" recently. Trumpers absolutely would have called it out specifically if he had become more left-leaning, so the vagueness was a big hint.
The inscriptions on the bullet casings are all groyper memes, including "hey fascist, catch this", which references the game Helldivers 2, a game where you fight fascists, but which has been co-opted by fascists.
The other background info we've been told which suggests groyper are his Halloween costumes, one dressed as trump and one as Pepe the frog doing a slav squat in a track suit. Dressing up like that doesn't exactly scream leftist. It's too risky to even do ironically.
So far I've seen one witness account saying he was saying leftist things, but this was later retracted due to the witness suspecting he confused him with a different person. Someone also claimed he had a trans roommate, but that guy had just dressed up in a hoodie and asked an AI to draw him, and it drew a female furry or something. Apparently that's all it takes to be labeled trans in Trump country.
Sorry I don't have time for bringing receipts, but you should be able to search up sources for this stuff pretty easily I'd imagine.

I think people have a pretty distorted view of the cultural background of ww2: Folks were anti-Nazis because they were "the bad guys", not because of their ideology. I mean, sure , a fair few people probably thought fascism was shit but the popular acrimony against Germany et al was not anti-fascist in essence. it was simply old-fashioned war and they were the enemy.
