Tech doesn't make the world better. It's a tool that's been used to make rich people richer. Everyday people coming together for a greater cause makes the world better.

Looks like more of a chance of false positives happening and getting the police to raid your home to confiscate your devices. I don't care what the article says I know Google is getting access to that data because that's who they are.

Yeah I use software to make my life easier. Not saying it isn't worth learning but time is limited.

So that actually doesn't do what I want. It will record buying and selling of securities but only as if it were like making purchases or payments in a credit card or bank account. It doesn't keep track of the value of the security or any other asset. For example, I have a Roth account and it has a couple hundred shares of an index fund in it. Actual will only show that I spent several thousand on that index fund (listing it's name in the notes) but not the number of shares I bought and at what price at the time of purchase. I won't be able to track gains or losses for each security, only as a whole of the entire Roth. Actual doesn't do what I want it to do and I don't know enough TypeScript to contribute.

So way back when I used to use Mint.com to help me manage my finances. It worked great until Intuit bought them, ended the app, and redirected their customers to CreditKarma. I hated getting spam messages and haven't used a personal finance app for years. I finally set up ActualBudget and it great for budgeting but I want to keep track of investments, retirement holdings, property, and things outside of the monthly budget. I don't think ActualBudget does that. Are there any self hosted projects that helps me keep track of stocks, property, and other assets?

Article:

The sheriff of an Ohio county recently asked his followers on Facebook to keep track of people in their neighborhoods who are openly supporting Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign.

Local news station WKYC reported that Portage County Sheriff Bruce D. Zuchowski told his followers to "write down" the addresses of people who put Harris-Walz signs in their front lawns so that he could drop off any undocumented immigrants at their residences.

"When people ask me... What's gonna happen if the Flip - Flopping, Laughing Hyena Wins??" Zuchowski, who took office in 2021, wrote on Facebook. "I say... write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards! Sooo... when the Illegal human 'Locust' (which she supports!) Need places to live...We'll already have the addresses of their New families...who supported their arrival!"

WKYC reached out to Zuchowski to ask him questions about his Facebook post but he had not responded as of Monday morning.

Although Donald Trump won Portage County in 2020, recent election data suggests that there are tens of thousands of likely Harris voters living there.

According to the county's official tally, Trump received 45,990 votes in the county, while President Joe Biden received 35,661 votes there.

These people and public officials are pretty petty.
