Dont overlook the simple explanation that it's a legitimate honest to god cult. Not an iota less cultish than Jonestown. The antivaxxers who lost a 6yo daughter felt no remorse either and did not change their minds on vaccines. These kinds of people have been willingly programmed into a nationwide cult. It's even weirder that judging by the names (wife's first name and husband's second) they are a pair of Iranian Armenians. It's not as if Trump hadn't broken every promise given to Armenians in the US.

Clearly he doesn't understand. We've been identifying terrorists and sleeper cells for decades without snatching first and asking questions later. This is a combination of Federal incompetence (not being able to reasonably identify threats before detainment) and cruelty (they want self-deportations and unrest that justifies more funding).
If that were my husband, I'd be considering divorce. At least if I ever got out of the gulag.
