Don't go beating up random people. That's why the state has monopoly on violence

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 124 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Remember, it's always okay to punch a Nazi! That's the only education they understand.

[insert Skeletor running away GIF]

Until we meet again!

^But also remember, you first have to make sure they're a Nazi, then the beating can commence^

Edit: looks like we found four Nazis, boys! Sick 'em!

(autocorrect really wanted to replace "sick" with "dick" but honestly, Nazis do not deserve to observe the majesty of my penis)

[–] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I don't think this random furry was a nazi though...

[–] reev@sh.itjust.works 34 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

They were mistaken for a Nazi. Hence emphasizing the need to make sure they are actually Nazis.

[–] axexrx@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

My question is, did he mistake him for a nazi on the costume alone, or did the furry introduce himself as Aaron wolf (it says thats his furry name in small text at the bottom) and the greek guy misheard it as Aryan wolf?

[–] reev@sh.itjust.works 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

It's in the headline of the article; because he thought that he was associated with the ultranationalism Grey Wolves association. So purely because of the costume resembling an ultranationalist group, being a grey wolf.

It's like punching a guy for wearing a white hooded costume around because they look like the KKK but really it was just a guy in costume for his favorite niche community, the pointy hood bakers or something. Not saying it isn't stupid but if you dont know what furries are and have the association of that group in your head I can see it happening. It obviously shouldn't, though.

[–] DaTingGoBrrr@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Lmao I am imagining someone punching a "Stjärngosse" from the Lucia trains we do in Sweden on December 12 because they believe it's a KKK member.

collapsed inline media

[–] reev@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 hours ago

Thank you, perfect example lmao

[–] groet@feddit.org 11 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

That is litterally the whole point of the post

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 2 points 20 hours ago

May I draw your attention to the last paragraph of my previous comment? I've even added emphasis to it.

[–] basxto@discuss.tchncs.de -3 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

But also remember, you first have to make sure they’re a Nazi, then the beating can commence

Although I already disagree with the first part, this is where it gets pretty difficult in most cases unless somebody unmistakeably calls themselves a Nazi.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 14 points 17 hours ago

There are plenty who make it very obvious. Sticking to them gets the point across well enough.

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 6 hours ago

Most Nazis can't help but tell you about themselves. All you have to do is talk to them for 15 seconds.

[–] TheEighthDoctor@lemmy.zip 34 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah the state never beats up the wrong people

[–] slappyfuck@lemmy.ca 3 points 12 hours ago

I mean, you’re not wrong lol! But at least it is supposed to go through a proper procedure with the state.

Except for nazis maybe, which this person was mistaken for

[–] realitaetsverlust@piefed.zip 47 points 19 hours ago

Solid reason, but bad execution.

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 26 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

kinda like seeing semana santa and beating up people for looking like klansmen? sure the similarity is there but it's a high tier of being dumb as fuck. Who the fuck hasn't heard of furries in this day and age?

[–] Timecircleline@sh.itjust.works 1 points 52 minutes ago

I could see Greece being pretty sheltered from niche internet communities. I think furries go against their state religion (which has say in their education and media)

[–] fne8w2ah@lemmy.world 16 points 23 hours ago

That plush wolfie must have experienced a big ouchie.

[–] xeekei@lemmy.zip 13 points 6 hours ago

Ultranats should not be allowed to lay claim on wolf symbolism! Wolves are cool.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 16 hours ago
[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago

For the last time - the ones you should be beating up are the Führerries!

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 13 hours ago

I've gotten comments about the various far right wolves and dogs organizations as if they defined all furries. They're ruining it for the rest of the kin.

It isn't the first time a subdemographic's reputation extends inappropriately to the rest of the group.
