Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson -- an innocent man and father of two young children
Innocent man my ass
19 and 16 are "young" children? Not to mention the fact that he was separated from his wife and his contact with them was limited. Unlike with hundreds, if not thousands, of parents he killed with his policy of denying coverage.
The obvious fellating of the ruling class by the mainstream media is annoying as fuck.
Nearly 26.6 million people in the U.S. rely on UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual through insured and self-funded plans. In addition, we serve more than 7.5 million people with care and benefits services outside of the United States.
Rather than hundreds to thousands, I'm going to go with thousands to tens of thousands.
How about a new rule... You don't get to call them young children if you think that they are old enough to work long hours at a hazardous job without breaks, or that they are old enough (by 2 or more years!) to be married to a 60+ year old pervert. You lose all moral standing to call them "young children" if you do.
Same aged kids are 'practically an adult' when congressmen traffic then.
Brian Thompson - unconvicted mass murderer and father of two grown children.
For which he thankfully received the death penalty.
The “pro-life” party really loves the death penalty…
they need live babies to they can become dead soldiers

More workers than soldiers at this point
I have a friend who studies behavior but applied to employment systems. Tons of research there on getting the most out of your employees. This sounds terrible when you first hear it right? But when you read it it’s about not burning out staff with reasonable quotas and demands, using positive reinforcement, building morale, etc. basically that you might decrease output slightly now but you’ll increase retention of the staff and the staff will overall be much more satisfied
They reject this in basically every industry even though it’s evidence based. It’s easier to burn people out and churn through workers. Meanwhile humanity stays poor and miserable for the most part (aside from a small percentage that makes out like bandits)
Right? Tons of studies show that treating your employees well is way more profitable than treating them like shit. Even from a capitalist perspective, it's stupid to not treat them well.
Well it depends. If you want quality staff delivering quality service/making quality products then yes it is. You have to spend a ton of money onboarding and training them so burning them out is foolish because you just burn cash
However, if you are fine with delivering a poor or mediocre service/product (the bare minimum), you can slash training and onboarding costs to the bare minimum. Your staff will be even more resentful because now they will struggle.
But as long as you have a huge pool of workers clamoring for jobs you can keep this going and even do so with abusive conditions (demand 100% efficiency, constant overtime, insane quotas, etc). Just burn them out and when they crash pick another resume from the pile
I was talking to someone the other day who works in the tech industry. They had a coworker who died on a Friday and they were replaced on a Monday. There was no fanfare or grieving. It was just “okay, that’s a bummer, here’s his replacement”
In this case it’s just the rich punishing a plebeian for daring to challenge them, in the hopes of they make his punishment terrible enough everyone else will be too scared to rise up.
But in answer to you astute observation that the ‘pro-life’ people love the death penalty, the reason is simple: to these people, being ‘bad’ isn’t something you do, it’s something you are.
So to them it’s not a break in internal logic at all. They gave the pure, innocent baby a chance, but they turned out to be a Bad Person, so they must be punished, because that’s what you deserve for being a Bad Person.
This is why they favor punitive jailing and killing criminals instead of trying to reform criminals; criminals are Bad, and so they will always do Bad Things.
It’s also why they do stuff like try to get rid of abortion. If a woman got pregnant from ‘sleeping around’ then she’s a Bad Person and deserves to be punished by carrying the child to term.
How to make a martyr in 180 days?
It's really crazy we are literally living in a new type of world.
The wealthy ARE the powerful, but the rest of us out number them to such grand extent that the only way they can remain wealthy is through fear and murder.
There is no war but class war.
They did this to the anarchist assassins (And accused assassins) in the 1930s, too. Started summarily deporting people en masse for their beliefs or presumed beliefs, and executing people after brief appearances in kangaroo courts. Honestly if Germany hadn't gone Nazi and basically dragged the us into a war with them, we would have done it instead.
What I was thinking too.
If everything is the death penalty we might as well do everything.
The punishment for stealing from the king's garden is death.
The punishment for killing the king so everyone may eat from it is death.
Might as well go for the most effective use of your life.
This is straight up Diogenes. As in, same problem for the last 2300 years.
He should run for congress because there are no consequences for crime if you get elected before the justice system has time to convict
That corrupt piece of shit that dropped the trump University case for fifty bucks and a case of Boone's Farm wants the DoJ to pursue the death penalty for a homicide. Sure. Best timeline ever.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat noooooooooooo, that can't be right. Who other than every single person alive saw that coming?
Hopefully, they will televise it and trump will say "You're fired" right before they pull the switch. That would be on par with the shitshow circus we live in these days.
Edit: added to the bit
Kill 24 normal citizens in a mass shooting in a Walmart, plea deal. Allegedly Kill 1 billionaire, death penalty
I don't think he was a billionaire. But his job was a nasty one that did please billionaires.
Indications seem to be high 8 to low 9 figs. There is a fucking ocean between "not billionaire" and "average guy". Also, obligatory fuck Brian Thompson.
They’re sitting in a working class revolt powder keg and they just lit the match ….lol
So they basically admit it is about revenge, not justice? How dare someone of the working class attack someone clearly superior! We must punish this worthless creature to put them into their rightful place at the bottom of the taxpaying pyramid!
This has a potentially significant chance of backfiring, as it is more difficult to get a jury to convict when the death penalty is at stake.
The death of one, a tragedy. The death of millions, statistics.
death of millions for profit - solid business practice, congratulations and see you again at next shareholder meeting
Can't say it on Reddit, but I hope that they can't find a jury who would convict him.
A man killed a man that was killing thousands of men.
So, we should kill him!
Are they not vindicating Luigi by wanting this?
Whenever I think of the Dylan Roof incident.
The death penalty isn't a punishment, who really learns from it, the criminal? It's a tool for society to remove what amounts to a defective person (not human, person). People are supposed to value the lives of other people by default. Any sustained deviation from this norm is a symptom of a person who cannot value life.
Dylan Roof was given 1000s of opportunities to demonstrate that he did actually value life but because of his defective nature there was no choose but to remove him.
"Life in prison" can be canceled/pardoned/changed, death cannot. That is why it's near impossible to make it happen and even if it does,, people spend the rest of their lives waiting for their "execution" (ftr Dylan is still alive at this time source).
Now in what possible world would you be able to convince a jury of random peers, or judges with their heads actually screwed on tight, that a sample size of one murder proves that a person is defective.
Genuine responses only:
The prosecutor claims that he endangered others around the victim. But if you watch the video you can tell he clearly was careful to not cause harm to anyone else. He could have bombed him, done a drive-by or any other method but he shot him with single shots at a close range. If they go for the death penalty he'll walk.
hmm so death is an appropriate consequence for killing people, huh. so she's admitting that Luigi allegedly delivered justice, actually.
I think it's inappropriate for a lawyer to use stage names though. I mean, Pam Bondi? come on.
If we live in a country where a child can get ran over or shot every day and nobody gets prison time for it, we can set a man free who kills a serial killer that preys on the poor and injured for profit.
We all now know for sure what scares them.
Oh that piece of shit, does she not understand this will make matters worse?
She will turn him into a martyr, this administration is the dumbest I have seen in my whole fucking life.
The guy who deserved the DP got it.
So riddle me this.
Inner City, poor area, 2:00 a.m.
One gang member approaches another rival gang member, pulls out an illegally modified full auto pistol, dumps an entire 30 round magazine into him.
Does he get the death penalty?
Nobody should ever get the death penalty. Capital murder is a symptom of a fucked up society.
