Green card applicants seeking legal residency through a spouse now face possible deportation as President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown deepens. A new Trump administration policy allows federal immigration authorities to initiate removal proceedings for immigrants without legal status who seek lawful permanent residency through a spouse or other family members. “Family-based petition accords no immigration status nor does it bar removal,” warns a new guidance issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Monday.

The policy took effect immediately, and also applies to applicants with pending requests, NBC News reported.

Why not just get an EB-1 visa?

“Melania Trump obtained US citizenship on a visa reserved for immigrants with ‘extraordinary ability’ and ‘sustained national and international acclaim’”

Yes her extraordinary ability is to date tolerate and stay married to a known pervert and pedophile. I don't know how many of these people have that.

Her love for Trump is teeny-tiny, but her love for us is large.

Allegedly. No proof has been offered.

That's because they're easier to target. They have a spouse that's in the regular systems. Easy to track the ones updating their address on their license, filing taxes, etc. that aren't trying to hide in any way. You know, the ones we should want.

Going after the spouses that miss a deadline, are in court to fix an issue, or have had immigration agents telling them they're all good for months or years already when it turns out the government lost track of something 5+ years ago and never noticed.

The Golden Rule of the US. It's singular guiding principle.

"The Cruelty Is The Point"

Keep that in mind. Because that's the reality. Frame news like this with that in mind.

Burn it all down

So what options are there? It sounds like a K1 is out of the picture since the spouse would be a resident while applying for a green card. CR1 would work if married outside the US and the spouse can get a green card (conditional if <2 years) upon entry?
