.world is a bit touchy about it because they’re based in a country that considers that ‘violent speech’ and could conceivably shut them down over it. But the admins also don’t like Nazis so they tend to look the other way as long as people aren’t too aggressive about it.
It should be required.
If you're afraid your instance might ban you, you can feel free to switch to another one. Both can access same content.

350k karma on a 13 year old account. Perma-banned for saying "It's ok to punch a Nazi". That's when I just stopped giving a fuck about Reddit and created a new account every week or two until I got tired of that and came to Lemmy.
The only thing Reddit is useful for now is Googling Reddit search results for solutions to specific problems.
The problem with catering to Nazis is that one they think it is safe then they bring their friends. Eventually you will have Nazis everywhere. Paraphrased.
I used to think that all speech needed to be protected, just to keep myself safe. The thing is that once you start saying harmful things then something needs to be done. When you play their games and say hurtful things, they use the same rules used to protect you to get you removed.
This is why hate groups should not be legitimized. Hate speech should not be protected. Saying punch a Nazi and punch a ethnic, gender, racial, national, able,???? group you can't control is not the same. I personally cut religious groups slack.

Reddit is just an apologist org now, like other US corporates. Fuck them, Lemmy works just fine, and helps me do less time on social media.
I think Lemmy.world does have some rules about calls to violence, but it's not as bad as reddit. Still, I'd recommend a different instance if I were you. They're the largest one, but you get the same experience anywhere else without being part of Reddit 2.0.
Saying punching Nazis was fine got me banned from there. It's a badge of honor. Fuck Nazis and reddit with em.

Well inciting violence is obviously against the rules. Justifying your fantasy by calling people nazis doesn't help. But again, I'm not convinced this happened to OP or to you.
That's not fair, if you said "remember to punch a non-nazi" you would also be banned. Now that's fair. Reddit treats Nazis the same as Non-Nazis. They're exactly the same. Bully or victim, absolutely identical. They don't care if you murder or were murdered. Now that's equality.
