So, what's the scoop? No name or product link!

If you go through that user's other reviews, while they are very funny, they're also very AI generated. Tons of contrivances and the classic "and honestly?"

They were almost all posted on April 13th, and they all drop the "brand name" of the product in just really unnatural ways. This is 1,000% a bot.

Do go visit the profile though. The sex toy reviews are pretty funny.

If you want some quick examples of how this is obviously AI:

Thanks for confirming this. I'm atrocious at recognizing AI and thought I was just overthinking these reviews because there were a lot of em dashes

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

Lolllll I use the em dash trick too, but some people do just love using them—I definitely went through a phase myself.

[–] fmstrat@lemmy.nowsci.com 4 points 2 weeks ago

Yup. On Amazon, always do three things:

  • Sort reviews by most recent, go to the end, and make sure the reviews are for the same product snd it wasn't switched (report it if so)
  • Search reviews for the brand name, skip AI garbage and see how many people say it or are Vine reviews
  • Read filtered on critical reviews
[–] entwine413@lemm.ee 7 points 2 weeks ago

I have one kinda like that, but it doesn't swoop up at the end, and I can confirm it's amazing.

The handel looks to have multiple uses outside the instruction manual.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It will also come in handy if there’s ever a dildo shortage

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Saving this comment in case I am ever in a position in my life where I need a good ice cream scoop.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

I bought this scoop, the review is absolutely correct: it’s solid as fuck and slices through ice cream like a hot knife through butter

[–] Xylight@lemm.ee 21 points 2 weeks ago

Seeing so much AI generated content shared to me by my parents, online in reviews, in my curriculum in school, and in comments has taken such a toll on my brain that I can recognize it immediately despite rarely using ChatGPT

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well now I need to know this product, too

[–] ubergeek77@lemmy.ubergeek77.chat 22 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Be careful, that's an AI generated review. Definitely try to find other human reviews before you buy it.

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

I figured something was up when it mentions the full product name like that.

[–] pewpew@feddit.it 1 points 2 weeks ago

Well... there is a typo at the end, this doesn't feel too much like AI

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I have those. The reviewer is absolutely correct on all counts. Literally life changing, or at least morning run changing. I work out harder because I'm not afraid of my ear buds falling out. No more panicking because a bud almost followed a clown down a storm drain. I've had them five or six years and they are still as good sounding, fast charging and long battery life'd as the day I met them. If you think you might have a use for them, get them.

[–] Quik@infosec.pub 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

What air phones are you/the reviewer talking about and how do you know you have the same?

[–] Darkmuch@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This style of ice cream scoop is my favorite https://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Heavy-Duty-Non-Slip-Supplies-Scoops/dp/B00RGFVBQY

It’s not really a scoop, but a plow/shovel. If your ice cream is rock solid, this style lets you apply maximum force directly on it, as opposed to at an angle.

[–] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 weeks ago

An aside: I found it funny that the Amazon site in your link popped up a captcha to make sure I was not a web crawler or AI trying to steal their data.

who the fuck scoops ben&jerry? it's soft (unless you let it melt and then re-freeze it) and not a particularly large package, it's something you eat with a spoon not serve to others!

[–] Pinklink@lemm.ee 5 points 2 weeks ago

I worked at a Ben and Jerry’s “factory”, so I’m a bit of an expert, and there is something wrong with yours. Either your freezer is not turned high enough or your BJ dealer is not reputable, but those pints freeze solid af if you get em cold, and solid af is just the way I like my BJs

[–] RisingSwell@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 weeks ago

I'm in Aus and Ben and jerries is not soft, unless it's the whipped ice cream which is super soft. The normal flavours bend my non-preffered spoons as much as golden north does.
