Families of Israeli hostages kept captive in Gaza are calling for a nationwide general strike next Sunday, in protest of the Israeli security cabinet’s recent decision to expand the war and take over Gaza City.

“We are shutting down the country to save the soldiers and the hostages,” said the relatives of the hostages in Tel Aviv. They were joined by the October 7 Council, which represents bereaved families of soldiers who fell at the start of the war.

Statement on Ukrainian sovereignty endorsed by all European Union leaders except for Hungary’s Viktor Orbán

All but one of the European heads of state and government have said that Ukrainians must have the freedom to decide their future, ahead of a high-stakes summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday.

“Meaningful negotiations can only take place in the context of a ceasefire or reduction of hostilities,” the leaders said, adding that “we share the conviction that a diplomatic solution must protect Ukraine’s and Europe’s vital security interests.”

The statement, which was agreed late on Monday and published on Tuesday, was endorsed by leaders of all EU member countries except Hungary.

An energy leap which overshadows Wyoming’s population

Hi guys! So...I have a self-hosted DNS server. Initially I'd use pihole, with unbound, and the more or less basic blocklists. But from time to time things would start acting wonky. Sometimes a reboot would fix it. Sometimes...not really and I was really not sure what was going wrong, but it was clearly DNS. Changing the clients settings from my own server to something like 9.9.9.9 would immediately get it sorted out.

So I went with an adguard server. In the last few days I've started to notice weird behaviors. Today I've lost the Azure desktop I was connected, and it was very clearly looking like DNS. So I checked...and yup, 9.9.9.9 again would sort it all out. So...I'm not sure what's going wrong. I'm selfhosting these on an LXC container in proxmox. Nothing else seems to have issues connecting, and I see almost no resources being used. Any ideas? Any other DNS server I might be able to try?
