We are getting reports of YouTube rolling out an experiment to some accounts where normal videos only have DRM formats available on the tv (TVHTML5) Innertube client.

This is not limited to yt-dlp. Tests have been run with the same account on various official YouTube TV clients (PS3, web browser, apple tv) and they are also only getting DRM formats for videos.

We live in hell-world.

Anora was the big winner at the Oscars a week ago, securing awards for best picture, actress, and director, among others. This major achievement puts the movie in the spotlight and increases interest through both legal and illegal channels. Fresh data collected by TorrentFreak shows that pirate downloads surged right after the awards ceremony ended.

Am I correct in thinking this?

In December 2024, Microsoft Threat Intelligence identified a malware campaign stemming from pirate streaming sites. Using iframe malvertising redirector URLs to generate revenue, and redirects up to five layers deep, malware payloads hosted on GitHub, Discord and Dropbox, acted as a dropper for additional payloads hosted elsewhere. Microsoft says the goal was to steal information and it believes almost a million devices were infected.

Lately I have been using mp3streams on Kodi to listen to full albums.

However, sometimes it stops in the middle of songs and skips to the next song.

Are there any alternatives to mp3streams? Maybe ones that do not require Kodi?

Nice!

Also, this site tracks the uptime of LG and other pirate libraries: SLUM: The Shadow Library Uptime Monitor.

According to court documents, Steven R. Hale, 37, of Memphis, worked for a multinational company that, among other things, manufactured and distributed DVDs and Blu-rays of movies. From approximately February 2021 to March 2022, Hale allegedly stole numerous “pre-release” DVDs and Blu-rays, that is, discs being prepared for commercial distribution in the United States and not available for sale to the public. These included DVDs and Blu-rays for such popular films as “F9: The Fast Saga,” “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” “Godzilla v. Kong,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “Dune,” and “Black Widow.” Hale allegedly sold the DVDs and Blu-rays through e-commerce sites. At least one pre-release Blu-ray that Hale allegedly stole and sold, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” was “ripped” — that is, extracted from the Blu-ray by bypassing the encryption that prevents unauthorized copying — and copied. That digital copy was then illegally made available over the internet more than a month before the Blu-ray’s official scheduled release date. Copies of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” were downloaded tens of millions of times, with an estimated loss to the copyright owner of tens of millions of dollars.

Asking after the privacy debacle and manifest. I'm not keeping up closely, but iirc Firefox is the browser recommended because of Ublock. After the privacy data issue I've noticed broken trust from Firefox users, recommendations in favor of switching browsers, and predictions saying Firefox is going downhill fast and that their forks won't be maintained for much longer.

So I'm here asking the seasoned sailors' thoughts, aye. Is this just a storm passing by or are you really considering jumping ship?

Hello All. Just thought people might like to know, Torrent Galaxy (torrentgalaxy.one) is still operational and torrents have been added as recent as two days ago. Don't know if this is a "new" domain or something which will eventually disappear but "get 'em while they're hot" if you can't live without something from there.

Nintendo celebrated victory over French file-hosting service 1fichier.com this week. The French Supreme Court denied the filehoster's appeal and upheld a piracy liability ruling in favor of the gaming company. The ruling confirms that hosting platforms can be held liable if they fail to remove pirated content when asked.

New research on ad-funded piracy centers on manga site Tu Manga Online (TMO). After switching to a new domain 'zonatmo.com' around September last year, it took just 90 days to transform a new start into half a billion visits per month. According to the research, the site's revenue generating scheme is an open secret. Yet, for unknown reasons, nobody tries to stop it.

I host a minecraft bedrock server user by the family to play, from ps4 and android.

Adding a windows client, do i need to pay again to play? I mean, the price of the windows Minecraft client is... Unbeliable. And we already purchased the android client and the ps4 client...

I tried to look around for a cracked windows client but with no luck.

Is it possible? Anybody running a cracked Minecraft client on windows? No need for online play except connect to our self hosted server ...

As Spain's pirate site-blocking crisis persists for the fourth consecutive week, LaLiga's decision to block Cloudflare continues to affect innocent internet users and websites. Cloudflare took legal action last week hoping to stop LaLiga in its tracks. In a parallel process, cybersecurity group RootedCON has asked a court to strike out LaLiga's blocking authority. Meanwhile, RootedCON says moves are underway to undermine the authority of their lawyer.

I'd rather ask my piracy and privacy respecting community here where it can benefit us all than read some dumb gismodo link called "top 15 android torrent clients," so, what are people using for some light android torrenting these days? Preferably something on f-droid if ya got it!

A single DMCA anti-circumvention notice, sent by Nintendo on the one-year anniversary of its 2024 lawsuit against Yuzu, showed just how much things can change in a year. Targeting nine repos linked to Switch emulator Ryujinx, the domino effect led to the removal of 4,238 repos. Elsewhere, the distilled components of Yuzu's demise can be found in recent takedown notices

Members of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) filed two separate copyright infringement lawsuits yesterday, targeting the alleged operators of IPTV services including 'Outer Limits IPTV', 'Shrugs' and 'Zing'. Amazon, Netflix and several major Hollywood studios demand an end to the infringing activity and an award for damages, which could run to millions of dollars.
