!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

The closet will to a point, but unless the closet is airtight, dust will seep in .

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

Plus opening and closing the closet will let dust in, so the more it is accessed the more dust will get in.

But still far less than outside the closet.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 17 points 3 days ago

It gets there too, but not as much. The dust comes from outside the closet, not inside.

[–] grasshopper_mouse@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

There's dust in closets, too. I just bought a 3-pack of zippable plastic dust covers for all the hanging clothes I don't wear often because they were getting dusty AF.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Wait, what is dust doing to my precious clothing? Should I be alarmed? I'm going to be until you tell me otherwise.

Memento mori.

[–] SolidShake@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Dust is primarily dead skin. So wherever you go. Dust goes there too

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 8 points 3 days ago

The dust is coming from inside the house!

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And it can fairly easily carry on the air. So if air flow can get there, so can dust.

PSA: Change your HVAC's air filter if you haven't yet this quarter.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Is the recommendation really quarterly? I've usually done twice a year but might have to step out up.

[–] BombOmOm@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I have heard both quarterly and twice a year. There really is a ton of 'it depends'. Mostly, does it look caked on after a quarter? If not, twice a year is fine. Some people's places are really dusty.

Change it daily! BE A CONSUMER!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY PEASANT!!!

.....am I doing it? Am I being a rich person now?

[–] BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

Depends on the thickness. The thin ones need to be changed more than the thick ones.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Inside my body must be very dusty, because I'm dead inside.

My gym coach tells me I'm skinny on the inside.

[–] JASN_DE@feddit.org 10 points 3 days ago

There will be dust in there too, just not as much as leaving them out.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 7 points 2 days ago

If you're worried about dust just get some of that plastic they throw on at the dry cleaners. Or a garment bag.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 2 days ago

your skin will accumulate and form all that gray dust on surfaces, combined with dust mites, or other allergen materials.
