The project is called Wine Bar. There is a demo video on the Github project page.

Why a yet another Wine prefix manager? My primary goal was to make it possible to run Windows apps on my Macbook Air M2 running Fedora Asahi Remix, which is my daily driver. Before anyone asks, the project supports regular x86_64 distros as well. I could run Stream on this rather exotic setup, though I would rather run something opensource.

I did manage to get an old version of Heroic Games Launcher running under muvm, though the process wasn't straightforward. I definitely wanted a more user-friendly solution. Besides, I find most existing opensource Wine prefix managers to be lacking in one aspect that's important to me: they tend to either work out of the box for a given piece of software or not at all. For instance, if you have to install a package using Winetricks for the installer to be able to run, you are out of luck with Heroic (at least on that older version that can run under muvm).

I did find one project that was pretty close to what I wanted. That project is called simply Wine Prefix Manager. I had difficulties running it under muvm though. I contemplated about contributing to that project instead of creating my own, but the project in question is written in Dart / Flutter, which I didn't know. Myself, I am a C++ guy. However, I thought that perhaps learning Dart / Flutter would be a worthwhile investment of my time.

Long story short, I've created my own Wine prefix manager from a ground up, also in Dart / Flutter. It took me 5 months. It's functional and I'd like to invite people to give it a try and give me feedback. Thanks in advance!

Television and Radio are 75% advertisement.

Most of my favorite youtubers from 2010s are gone replaced with nonstop politics, drama, reaction, and streaming content farming.

I feel it in my heart that short form content is damaging everyones attention spans especially my tablet ridden younger family members.

Weekend trips to Blockbusters to rent out a game and movie is gone.

When I go into the search bar on YouTube I see stuff literally called "brain break" and "brain rot".

I switch on the news and its 90% pure political propagandano matter the station.

Even the memes suck now, say what you want about caption memes and dancing babies and troll face, Pepe, me gusta but that shit was at least comprehensible in humor. go on 67 Wikipedia and it literally says "It has no fixed meaning."

Even the steam store just feels different now. Its full of gooner porn bait visual novels and mundane activity sims and 1 season relevant fps shooters.

All the stuff I enjoyed is gone, and everything they make now seems so empty and pessimistic now. The last bastion of enjoyment zi have is older media and indie made stuff by a few select artist/small teams . Is this just me getting old yelling at clouds, or is something wrong?

I just found out that Embark used genAI to replace recalling it's voice actors. And I am devastated. It was my GOTY and now I'm boycotting it. To the point that I decided to be vocal about it.

I don't want any AI (not talking about machine learning for the way the Arcs move, I'm talking about the voice actors being replaced) in the work of art that I think are the video games I play.

To game developers: Stop using AI in your video games!

Vacation travel to U.S. down as Canadian tourists make strategic decisions on where to spend time, money

As Mexico sees steady growth in Canadian tourists, the U.S. is experiencing a decline.

Data from Tourism Economics and the U.S. National Travel and Tourism Office reveals a 24% drop in Canadian tourism to the United States during the first six months of 2025.

Major cities such as Las Vegas (down 50%), New York (down 46%) and Honolulu (down 41%) are being hit hardest, said Amra Durakovic, communications director with Flight Centre Travel Group in Toronto.

Florida remains the most resilient, but is down 22%, she said.

MP allegedly greeted a party colleague at German parliament building ‘with a heel click and a Hitler salute’

Berlin prosecutors say they have charged a member of the far-right Alternative für Deutschland party with making a Nazi salute in parliament.

The suspect allegedly “greeted a party colleague … at the east entrance to the Reichstag building with a heel click and a Hitler salute” in June 2023, the prosecutors said in a statement issued on Monday.

Making such a salute is illegal in Germany and is punishable by up to three years in prison.

The newspaper Bild named the politician as Matthias Moosdorf, 60, a member of parliament for Zwickau in the former East German state of Saxony.

AI has moved into enterprise operations faster than many security programs expected. It is embedded in workflows, physical systems, and core infrastructure. Some AI tools reach hundreds of millions of users each week. Inference costs have fallen 280 fold, but overall spending is still rising because usage keeps growing. Attackers are using the same tools. CISOs manage a broader attack surface driven by automation, new data paths, and machine led decisions. Cuts to US aid funding have directly led to the closure of more than 1,000 family planning clinics, new figures shared with the Guardian reveal.

Millions of people have been left without access to contraceptives or care, including those who have suffered sexual assault, as part of a “radical shift towards conservative ideologies that deliberately block human rights”, according to the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

A survey of its member associations found that approximately 1,394 service delivery points, or clinics, have been shut down, including 1,175 in Africa, and that 34 had laid off staff as a result of the Trump administration’s cuts, representing at least 969 job losses.

Campaigners say the cuts have emboldened anti-rights groups, reporting a rise in rhetoric opposing abortion and access to contraception for teenagers.

Police investigating claims Sajid and Naveed Akram received ‘training’ overseas before Sunday’s attack

The father and son duo allegedly behind the Bondi attack appear to have been inspired by Islamic State, the Australian prime minister says, as police confirmed they were investigating why the pair travelled to the Philippines last month.

The New South Wales police commissioner, Mal Lanyon, on Tuesday alleged Naveed Akram, 24, and his 50-year-old father, Sajid, had recently travelled to the Philippines, which was confirmed by authorities in Manila.

Lanyon also alleged that IEDs and two homemade IS flags were found in a car registered to Naveed that was parked at the scene of Sunday’s Hanukah festival shooting.

“The reasons why they went to the Philippines, and the purpose of that, and where they went when they were there, is under investigation at the moment,” Lanyon said.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday that the president wears bandages on the back of his hand because he's “literally constantly shaking hands.”

CNN host Jake Tapper isn’t buying the official White House explanation for Donald Trump sporting bandages on the back of his hand, arguing on “The Lead” that there’s more to the president’s health picture than has been revealed.

Tapper discussed the matter with CNN chief political analyst David Axelrod and ex-Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Thursday that Trump wears the bandages as a result of “constantly shaking hands.”

“The White House gave the same explanation for bruising back in July,” Tapper said Thursday. “Obviously, he’s 79 years old. And there is something going on with his health that they’re not telling us, because otherwise, why did he have that MRI?”
