To be fair: it's all the Republicans casting the deciding vote. She doesn't have any special powers that makes her vote count more than the rest. The difference is that she's occasionally not-shitty and so she gets a lot of attention as a maybe.
Like: Rick Scott also cast these deciding votes, but everyone already expected that he'd be a shit so he doesn't get any flak for it.

Gerontocracy functioning exactly as intended
She's cosplaying a moderate while sucking that federal teet something fierce. Since Alaska relies so heavily on federal funding, and that funding is at the whim of whatever geriatric rich white fuck is currently inhabiting the oval office, Alaska senators probably have to placate them more than other senators. I think its chicken shit, and I think that Murkowski specifically is chicken shit for the damage she's causing to the country all so Alaska can keep collecting those big federal checks.
It's all about her ego and personal wealth/power. Her constituents are a means to those ends. She cares not for people she represents
Because they never cared about ordinary people. They serve a handful of figures at the absolute top and their main value is the ability to manipulate the masses.
Politician should not be a career choice, it should be a limited service to your fellow citizens and you should walk away when it is time.
As long as she follows through, at least Joni Ernst is doing what she said she would, though I suspect it isn't because of her promise but because she doesn't want a humiliating loss after telling people cutting services is fine because we're all going to die anyway.
I don't want this to become a "who's gonna get Kirked next" kinda thing. It's sad where the US is as a country.
