The woman thought to have the most direct knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's decades-long sex-trafficking operation claims there was no client list, no blackmail scheme and -- to her knowledge -- no high-profile Epstein associates who committed illicit acts in connection with the notorious sex-offender's crimes.

That's according to an account provided by Epstein's convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell to a top official of the U.S. Department of Justice during a highly unusual two-day interview session last month, according to a transcript and audio of the conversation released Friday by the DOJ.

After her interviews with the DoJ, Maxwell was moved to a Club Fed prison where all inmates are eligible for work release during their detention. The fact that she gave no incriminating evidence about Epstein associates, when it is plainly obvious to everyone that she has such evidence, shows that she was not rewarded for cooperating with the investigation, but for obstructing it.

"Transcripts show". We have no idea what really transpired in those meetings, and we never will.

I mean, the presumption was Ghislaine would come out and name a bunch of Democrats to deflect blame.

But it looks like she's going with the "We were all innocent, nobody did anything, this was a witch hunt by those mean liberal prosecutors" gambit. And it looks like something everyone is willing to play ball. Democrats have clammed up. Republicans are happy to sweep her prosecution under the rug and let her out on "work release" indefinitely.

Democrats don't really seem like they have clammed up. I still see them bringing this up whenever they can, and they look like they are ready to go once Congress is back in session.

Where are all those early MAGAs, the Q Anon- inspired followers for whom it was all about exposing Child Sex Trafficking, and somehow they convinced themselves that Trump was the guy to lead that fight?

Now that he's obviously a leader in it, why aren't we hearing from them?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

The QAnon types are absolutely still out there. They've just moved on to panicking over what cryptic messages they can divine from the change in the Cracker Barrel logo.

Interesting choice, given that the original prosecutor of Epstein was part of Trump's cabinet in term 1

The audio is available on the doj website. I can't say how much they've been altered or if she was coached to give certain answers but the audio is there to listen to.

What a fucking lie

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

most definitely coaching her to say things recently, like i dint seen nothing, with trump.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 40 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They gave a convicted sex trafficker a sweetheart deal and got... Nothing.

Well, they got "no incriminating evidence on Trump" which was their goal. And that's very obviously corrupt.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They did the same for her boss the first time around. The guy who gave it to him later got a cabinet position in Trump's first term.

"The best people"

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago

It's like they are documenting their Epstein coverup live to distract from their Epstein coverup. Release the fucking files, nobody asked for Maxwell getting interviewed again it's all already in the fucking files.

Says the daughter of an Israeli government spy

collapsed inline media

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 19 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If nothing happened then there’s no harm in releasing those Epstein files. Let’s see them, just to put everything to rest.

(Assuming this is not a psy-op where she says nothing happens, giving time for them to release an AI-generated version of the files that confirms what she said—or some other shady thing they could do…)

[–] bluecat_OwO@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

how are we sure that the files released would not be tampered with

[–] Mrkawfee@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

She went to prison for sex trafficking no one

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ofc. That’s why they’re releasing the files. Oh wait….

[–] scroll_responsibly@lemmy.sdf.org 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Check the transcripts for em-dashes.

[–] the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

That looks like a very clever comment. Could someone please explain it to me so I can also be clever?

[–] neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's what AI generated content does.

[–] the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Ah. Thank you.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

My understanding is that there are two kinds of dashes. We'll call one a regular dash and the other em-dash. The only difference is length. Normal typing generally results in regular dashes. A bunch of em-dashes is likely due to something puting in the extra effort to make those dashes long. If a document is filled with them, it's likely ai generated.

[–] the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

I appreciate the explanation.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

There's the hyphen (-), the En-dash, the width of an uppercase N, in the font (–), and the Em-dash, the width of the uppercase M, in the font (—). Most typesetters don't use with the En-dash, as it's virtually indistinguishable from the hyphen in body type.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Weird because Trump definitely claimed to have a list....

[–] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

“They were just lies to ~~get idiots~~ trick people to vote for him” - Trumpf voters trying to ~~put the square shape into circle~~ make sense of the world

[–] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Seems she's been trained well

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

she still has krompomat over trump, otherwise he wouldve offed her already. epstein was just too big of a threat to leave alive in '19, that would ruined his chances of a 2nd presidency.

yeah just gonna memory hole all those meetings she had with the kid fucker's lawyer leading up to this.that probably wasn't anything

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

How do you perjure yourself (again) and get moved to club fed?

[–] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Because they wanted her to. She said Trump did nothing wrong. Now she gets a cookie.

[–] Kurious84@eviltoast.org 2 points 1 week ago

She got special treatment and didn't say anything. Trump supporters gotta get a little twinge in the gut even at this one. Little Voice getting louder yet?
