That's mainly limited to the American South.

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You’re thinking of the fucks relatives, or also known in scientific circles as The Alabamian Constant (TAC for short).

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is useful for those trying to convey more precisely the amount of fucks they give.

[–] boydster@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago

I fucking love this

[–] fubarx@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Would plain old "What the Fuck" imply a null set?

[–] don@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago (3 children)

So what’s their opinion on the holy fuck?

[–] Medic8teMe@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The holy trinity.

Fucking God Damn, Jesus Fucking Christ and Holy Fuck.

[–] radix@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Must be an angel with wings, so they can also have a flying fuck.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I’ve never given a flying fuck though, and I’ve never heard anyone else give one either, so I’m not convinced they exist.

[–] MohamedMoney@feddit.org 0 points 1 month ago

They are rare and seldom bestowed

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

No idea, but I do see plenty of evil fucks every day on the news.

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Euler's fuck formula.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago

∅ = how many i have left to give.

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

The fuck transcends our ability to capture its essence

[–] kirkoman@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Nice try but no proof yet if the fuckery field is irrational.

[–] stevedice@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Oh, there's definitely irrational fucks. I don't see a proof that there's indeed a fuckomorphism between C and F, though.

[–] ornery_chemist@mander.xyz 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Nah, just look at the folks over in HR. Irrational fucks to a person. Though I suppose all that means is that there are some irrational elements in the set, not necessarily that it's isomorphic to the field of complex numbers. So can we diagonalize fuckery somehow...?

[–] Sloogs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago

Here, I gotchu:

The phrase "you stupid fuck" Implies the existence of irrational fucks.

[–] sunoc@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago

Okay but is the fuck a monoid in the category of endofunctors ?

[–] Paradachshund@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

There are definitely positive and negative fucks

[–] MisterFrog@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

There being absolute fucks doesn't imply positive and negative fucks though.

It implies we've set a point to measure against which we call zero fucks.

Perhaps there's an absolute zero fucks which can never be reached.

Perspective changes the reality around it.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 0 points 1 month ago

I’ve always loved ladies who are smarter / better educated than me.

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 0 points 1 month ago

This does not even scratch the surface of the possible uses and variations of fuck.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So what's fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago

About tree fiddy

[–] CucumberFetish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The real question is - is fuck Turing-complete?

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] Opisek@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

It's actually a beautiful language for arguing about computability because of how similar it is to a theoretical turning machine in that it possesses a read/write head that can move left and right on an infinite band. It's also incredibly simple to simulate using any other language of choice, including assembly and heck, even raw logic gates.

In this essay I will explain why Brainfuck should be the first language taught to computer science majors.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 0 points 1 month ago

Well that's fucked...

[–] Sivecano@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No prove of irrational fucks yet tho

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Plenty of empirical evidence around.

[–] Sivecano@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago

But do we get all of them?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (2 children)

fucking fucks implies fucks are procreating.

[–] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 0 points 1 month ago

What the fuck

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago

Or at least they’re trying…

[–] Entitle9294@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ok, everyone but me seems to get it, so I'll ask. I get everything but the last bit. What does "isomorphic with the complex field" mean? I think I know what isomorphic means from some dabbling I've done in category theory.

[–] Opisek@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (2 children)

In means you can map every element bijectively to one from the complex field AND addition and multiplication can be performed in either field without leading to contractions, i.e. a+b=c <=> f(a)+f(b)=f(a+b)=f(c) and equivalent for multiplication. This is the part that the meme fails to consider, because nowhere is addition or multiplication for this novel field defined.

[–] Entitle9294@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'll give this some attention when time permits because this does not make things clearer, lol.

I'll start with what a field is and a complex field 🤞

[–] DisguisedJoker@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

ELI5: it means that for every number there's a matching fuck and vice versa.

[–] Eq0@literature.cafe 0 points 1 month ago

Not only for any number of fucks there is a corresponding complex number, but the basic operations (+, -, x, /) work in the same way for fucks and complex numbers

Overall, if two things are isomorphic you can consider them «  the same »

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 1 month ago

"i do not give a single fuck" implies an additive identity fuck, and "I don't give two fucks" implies a multiplicative identity fuck. That's a start at least!

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

fan-fucking-tastic

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

What in the fucking fuck?! is a good one, too. Has some real what in tarnation? energy to it.

I also learned that FUCKING GOD!! is my go-to expletive when I spilled some icecream and my daughter (3 at the time) started yelling it in the car.

[–] silasmariner@programming.dev 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

'What in the fucking fuck' implies that fucking is an injective function over the field of fucks.

[–] silasmariner@programming.dev 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

From this we can infer that there is a complex function homomorphic to fucking 🤔

[–] Grostleton@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fucks can also have a social hierarchy, as evidenced by the phrase:

"I don't give a single solitary fuck"

[–] save_the_humans@leminal.space 0 points 1 month ago

These are are simply unitary fucks. Matrix fucks with eigenvalue absolute value of 1. Surprisingly useful for quantum computing applications.
