Literally just posted about this elsewhere but Hardbite are the best kettle chips hands down.

Not sure if this one is limited to BC but I also use Carina Organics for my hand and body soap. The hand soap in particular leaves such a nice feeling and scent (I buy the grapefruit), and they sell it at a lot of refill shops.

Another great one I discovered thanks to the boycott is Camino chocolate chips. So freaking good. I haven't tried their other chocolate but I'm sure it's probably delicious. Plus they are fair trade and a co-op.

Agree on the Hard Bites! Got them because I was trying gluten free-ness, can't go back to other chips anymore.

I recently tried Green Beaver Castile Soap, and it's the first soap that doesn't cause my skin to itch after showering.

I will see if Carina can be bought here in Alberta.

I switched to hardbite too but I'm struggling with the inconsistency of flavour distribution.

First two bags of BBQ I had were awesome, tons of flavour. Next two I've gotten had almost NO flavour on them at all.

Canada Sauce, Firebarns and La Pimenterie, Mag mayo. All incredible sauce brands.

I legitimately am never going back to disposables. It's awesome, and I've never cut myself with it. I 3d printed a used blade box to put the old blades in which solves the only problem with them.

I've tried other safety razors in the past with no luck, so I'm glad this one works as advertised.

If you want a shave soap to go with them, you can't go wrong with Macduffs. It's tallow-based and works better than anything I've used. The "Alberta Boys" sent is great.

I bought a dbrand phone case solely based on a google search for a case that sat flat.

it’s been pretty good, enough that I bought my wife one for her new phone. and screen protectors to go with.

if I’m gonna spend a few dozen dollars on something like that, I’d much rather it be made in Canada than Guangdong.

Rather than using Google for search may I suggest using ecosia.org, it of course was using google as the actual search engine but they are trying to do the indexing in house now because even in Europe the US is being seen as the big bad. I wish there was a Canadian search engine I could suggest but ecosia.org is the best I have for you right now.

Looks like I am changing my search engine again!

Is maapl.net an implementation of searxng? I use my own searxng, and maapl.net looks similar.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago

Yes it uses searxng.

Huh. I didn't know dbrand is Canadian. I love their cases, and they're pretty great when quality issues come up, so I'm glad to know I'm (accidentally) buying from a Canadian company.

Rocky Mountain Soap is the cats meow, I love their shampoo. The kids really like their bubble bath too. They've got a rebranding going on, it kind of smells like external funding, but for what I know of right this minute, 100% Canadian.
