A broken clock...

Happy that this particular lunatic is right on this particular issue.

[–] crank0271@lemmy.world 145 points 22 hours ago (9 children)

I'm going to guess that Russia doesn't want us to enter the war.

[–] scytale@lemmy.zip 113 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

Probably. Tucker Carlson is saying the same thing, so their handlers are telling them “nope, we don’t like that”.

[–] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 19 hours ago

Mmm I can’t wait to see the unintended consequences of that backpedaling.

God I hope there are some..

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 47 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

I'm guessing everyone with a brain doesn't want the US to go into Iran. It's like these people didn't learn anything from the last quarter century (and Vietnam before that).

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 35 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Learn things? With our education system??? Buddy! What do you think this is??? A different country? Who's this other country you're thinking about??? They sound like someone we need to go to war with! Do they have oil?

Not to mention the terrain of Iran would prove an order of magnitude more difficult to overcome. Afghanistan was already very difficult for our military, imagine MORE mountains

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 24 points 21 hours ago

Yep, huge country, difficult terrain, largely homogeneous culture that goes back to the Persian Empire, homegrown weapons industry that can build their own drones and missiles. This is going to be more difficult by orders of magnitude.

Brainwashed by what, MTG? Is it the Jewish space lasers again?

What exactly is this woman’s platform?

[–] Lodespawn@aussie.zone 90 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

"brown people can fuck off and deal with their own brown people shit"

[–] Placebonickname@lemmy.world 41 points 22 hours ago (4 children)

You should print this on a bumper sticker and sell it in Texas.

"Keep me in power and, more importantly, the spotlight"

She's an attention whore. Nothing more, nothing less. It's why she married her pedophile husband: he gave her attention when she was underage.

Before you get too excited, this was an interview with OAN, and that she thinks people should be paying more attention to OAN

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 63 points 13 hours ago (16 children)
[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 19 points 7 hours ago (4 children)

Kinda. MTG is ragging on Fox News, sure, but she's also both-sides'ing media outlets on the left with her full quote:

We have propaganda news on our side just as the left does

She's fishing for people to agree with her which legitimizes her claim that left-leaning news networks are just as untrustworthy as Fox News, which is and untrustworthy news outlet, but she doesn't say shit about Breitbart or OANN or any of the other right-wing superspreaders of misinformation.

So, she is a broken clock that's currently pointing at the correct time, but she did it in a way to sneak in an untruth or two in there hoping that people would pick up on that and amplify the message.

We’re in the clown dimension.

[–] smol_beans@lemmy.world 43 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

You know things are really fucked when you find yourself saying "hell yeah" to statements by mtg and tucker

[–] zaph@sh.itjust.works 18 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Russia is pro Iran so it wasn't entirely unexpected.

I oppose war in Iran because was is detestable.

You oppose war in Iran because you want troops in California instead.

We are not the same.

[–] Artyom@lemm.ee 39 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

A republican being anti-Fox News? That's a bold strategy.

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 33 points 18 hours ago (8 children)

I have heard some people refer to Fox News as being, and I quote, "liberal."

In fairness, these people are part of the MAGA crowd, so I assume they can't actually read and have no idea what the word "liberal" means.

Heartbreaking, the worst person you know just made a great point

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 37 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Saw polling where even Trump voters only have 25% support for attack on Iran, and majority of all demographics oppose by over 50%. There is a huge disconnect between zionist supremacist media and politicians, and American people. Not just war, but marjority of Amercians have unfavourable view of Israel despite absolute political/media dominance to "educate them".

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 22 points 6 hours ago

Polls also show overwhelming support for social security and taxing the rich, the GOP don't give af and the R voters won't change how they vote over this.

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 32 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

They are so close to realizing it.

You know, I was pretty adapted to this whole "dumbest reality" thing. I thought I had a good handle on it.

Now I'm agreeing with Bimbo Spacelasers on a political stance... I'm literally having an existential crisis to that.

When I hear someone like MTG say something like this my first thought isn’t “Oh, she’s finally figuring it out!” No. It’s “What fucked up way does she think people need to be brainwashed to align more with her brand of shittiness?”

[–] forrgott@lemmy.sdf.org 22 points 23 hours ago

"We have propaganda news on our side just as the left does"

Greene claimed that since Carlson was fired from "neocon network Fox News, he has more popularity and viewers than ever before" and that "he unapologetically believes the same things I do."

Yeah, nah.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 16 hours ago

She has nothing. She does nothing. She just wants to be in the headlines.

[–] ristoril_zip@lemmy.zip 16 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

welcome to the resistance, Marjorie
