Yeah, it depends entirely on how many things you're tracking and how many people need to access it. It's probably not the right tool here, but sometimes it just is.

Most of us don't bother with that. The only clock I manually change is the one on my car. The other appliances are always blinking 00:00 from whenever the last power outage was.

Might be just someone wanting to highlight an architecture issue that allows someone to spam everyone.
In a lot of ways, boomers grew up in a world of mass media, where there was a barrier to entry when it came to publishing stuff, and while mass media wasn't always truthful, there was trust to be had.
Their minds never really adjusted to this current world where anyone could publish whatever they wanted without any gatekeepers.
Civilisation forces you to make choices when building military units as well. You either invest some initial production in a factory or other production multipliers, or you queue up the units immediately but they'll take longer to build.
It's existential for Norway in a lot of ways. They border Russia and if Russia is allowed to get away with grabbing a chunk of Ukraine, they could be next.
