This is wholly out of control.

Fix your country, you absolute selfish idiots.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Seriously. Fucking do something.

[–] LuxSpark@lemmy.cafe 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yes, but all the people who could and should have prevented this did nothing. What would you suggest a normal person do?

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

There are a lot of illegal things you can do, and a lot of things republican supporters openly do that involve violence. I’m not going to openly implicate myself but use your imagination.

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago (3 children)

There have been some successful non-violent revolutions in history, and there's a strong case to be made that not exhausting those options could be a huge mistake.

We still have, right now, completely un-used tools at our disposal, such as unionizing en masse and deploying a general strike, which is insanely powerful (capable of bringing a nation to its knees if done widely enough), while being far less dangerous and more appealing to the general populace than any other means.

I don't disagree, but... how?

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 days ago
  1. Joining and organizing within your local community to create connections with others is incredibly powerful, will lay the groundwork for effective resistance.
  2. We can effect things drastically with a general strike. This can massively impact their income streams, and can bring a government to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
  3. Join the IWW and attempt to unionize your workplace, so that the general strike is even more effective.

If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Join up with allies while we still can easily!

Join the 50501 protests and/or attend TeslaTakedown protests.

[–] SreudianFlip@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

Fuckin' hard work, my friend. As Joe Hill said, "Don't mourn, organize!"

Which side does he think NATO would support?

[–] Ferroto@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (6 children)

An attack on one is an attack on all. I always wondered what would happen if one NATO country attacked another.

[–] Albbi@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 hours ago

I always wondered what would happen if one NATO country attacked another.

Putin sits back and laughs his head off.

Oh yes it will get involved, the US will be kicked out but yes, NATO will be involved

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago

Trump thinks that NATO is his personal army now?

Eh, must be Tuesday

Just fucking try it you orange twat!

"We want you to violate the sovereignty of a fellow NATO country. Are you in?"

[–] picnic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 days ago

Literally what's wrong with you? How dense can one carrot be?

[–] BlackRing@midwest.social 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I hope NATO does get involved. Not the same way Trump hopes though...

[–] Nemean_lion@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Canada has three of top 5 longest sniper kills. Ukraine has the top spot. We just need to export a small chunk of metal at high velocity into a golf course.

[–] CowsLookLikeMaps@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

Not getting banned on Lemmy moment

[–] Embargo@lemm.ee 2 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I hope you're prepared to pay an extra 25% on that export.

[–] elbucho@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

It'd definitely be a more worthy destination for my tax dollars than where they're currently going. I support this initiative.

[–] notabot@lemm.ee 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No, no, the importer pays the tax. You might want to send them a little extra if you want to help them out with that.

Kill him. I'm Canadian. Come at me.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Also, dear readers, you can upvote comments without being banned for it here.

Dear readers, friendly reminder that your votes on lemmy are in no way private.

Can we stop these kinds of comments? It's exactly what MAGA will use to rile up violence against Canada. Who doesn't like a fun plumber video game but we're better off encouraging and helping Americans to organise.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Dumbass doesn't even understand that NATO is a DEFENSIVE pact and that Denmark is a member. Not wanting to give you their territory doesn't count as an attack.

Also if he really cared about security he would have strengthened his ties with his allies instead of pushing them away. The US is far less secure now that it was 3 months ago.

I'd never thought I'd fight with side by side with Danes at some point...

[–] Coldcell@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

How about a fellow anti-American?

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

Yes, NATO must get involved if one of its members is attacked.

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

NATO will do exactly nothing to help the bloated orange shit-weasel take over Greenland.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Greenland and Canada are NATO countries. You cannot attack or forcefully annex another NATO country. If he leaves NATO, he will be up against Canada & Europe. The US is one Twizzler away from having the entire world sanction & boycott it.

collapsed inline media

And who does that benefit on the large scale?

collapsed inline media

This isn't Trump being a greedy idiot. This is systematic destruction of the US from inside out. Can't say Russia didn't warn you though:

"We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the US. We will destroy you from within."

— Nikita Khrushchev January 18th, 1956

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 3 days ago

It's pretty clear he's a putin asset.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 1 points 2 days ago

"Police may have to be involved in my invasion of my victim's home" says criminal

[–] person1@lemm.ee 0 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Amazing. It is like they want people to hate America as much as possible before America starts confronting China.
