This is wholly out of control.

Fix your country, you absolute selfish idiots.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Seriously. Fucking do something.

[–] LuxSpark@lemmy.cafe 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yes, but all the people who could and should have prevented this did nothing. What would you suggest a normal person do?

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There are a lot of illegal things you can do, and a lot of things republican supporters openly do that involve violence. I’m not going to openly implicate myself but use your imagination.

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

There have been some successful non-violent revolutions in history, and there's a strong case to be made that not exhausting those options could be a huge mistake.

We still have, right now, completely un-used tools at our disposal, such as unionizing en masse and deploying a general strike, which is insanely powerful (capable of bringing a nation to its knees if done widely enough), while being far less dangerous and more appealing to the general populace than any other means.

I don't disagree, but... how?

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 days ago
  1. Joining and organizing within your local community to create connections with others is incredibly powerful, will lay the groundwork for effective resistance.
  2. We can effect things drastically with a general strike. This can massively impact their income streams, and can bring a government to its knees if done on a large enough scale.
  3. Join the IWW and attempt to unionize your workplace, so that the general strike is even more effective.

If we put in the work, we can resist this and we can win. Join up with allies while we still can easily!

Join the 50501 protests and/or attend TeslaTakedown protests.

[–] SreudianFlip@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

Fuckin' hard work, my friend. As Joe Hill said, "Don't mourn, organize!"

Oh yes it will get involved, the US will be kicked out but yes, NATO will be involved

"We want you to violate the sovereignty of a fellow NATO country. Are you in?"

[–] Ferroto@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

An attack on one is an attack on all. I always wondered what would happen if one NATO country attacked another.

[–] lennee@lemm.ee 0 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Aggressor gets kicked out and NATO has to defend the attacked

Just fucking try it you orange twat!

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 1 points 2 days ago

Which side does he think NATO would support?

[–] picnic@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

Literally what's wrong with you? How dense can one carrot be?

[–] BlackRing@midwest.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I hope NATO does get involved. Not the same way Trump hopes though...

[–] Nemean_lion@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Canada has three of top 5 longest sniper kills. Ukraine has the top spot. We just need to export a small chunk of metal at high velocity into a golf course.

[–] Embargo@lemm.ee 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I hope you're prepared to pay an extra 25% on that export.

[–] elbucho@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

It'd definitely be a more worthy destination for my tax dollars than where they're currently going. I support this initiative.

[–] notabot@lemm.ee 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No, no, the importer pays the tax. You might want to send them a little extra if you want to help them out with that.

Not getting banned on Lemmy moment

[–] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Kill him. I'm Canadian. Come at me.

[–] Chozo@fedia.io 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Also, dear readers, you can upvote comments without being banned for it here.

[–] mearce@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago

Dear readers, friendly reminder that your votes on lemmy are in no way private.

Can we stop these kinds of comments? It's exactly what MAGA will use to rile up violence against Canada. Who doesn't like a fun plumber video game but we're better off encouraging and helping Americans to organise.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Dumbass doesn't even understand that NATO is a DEFENSIVE pact and that Denmark is a member. Not wanting to give you their territory doesn't count as an attack.

Also if he really cared about security he would have strengthened his ties with his allies instead of pushing them away. The US is far less secure now that it was 3 months ago.

[–] Silk@lemm.ee 0 points 3 days ago

NATO isn't really defensive.

It's two main Engagements - Kosovo and Afghanistan - were pretty solidly offensive imo.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'd never thought I'd fight with side by side with Danes at some point...

[–] Coldcell@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

How about a fellow anti-American?

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

Yes, NATO must get involved if one of its members is attacked.

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

NATO will do exactly nothing to help the bloated orange shit-weasel take over Greenland.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The more I look into Greenland situation the more I am thinking there's already a psychological campaign in play to get them to be part of the US. They're legitimately trying to get away for the Danish government and there's a strong US presence there already with military bases. I suspect the target is to get them to hand over the keys not only willingly but ask for it.

[–] CowsLookLikeMaps@sh.itjust.works 1 points 28 minutes ago

They are working on interfering in Canada too and have funded far-right groups, including the freedom convoy.

[–] person1@lemm.ee 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Amazing. It is like they want people to hate America as much as possible before America starts confronting China.

[–] Devanismyname@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As a Canadian, I don't know which country i hate more at this point.

[–] person1@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I know I'm supposed to understand that China is horrible, and the young US dick-tatorship is still nothing compared to Chinese high-tech totalitarian dystopia... but somehow, seeing USA, a supposed former friend and ally, turn into a ruthless, unprincipled traitor, aligning itself with Russia... With Russia, of all states! And spitting in the face of the hero of our times...

We know Russians here in Poland. We know how their army works, we know their mentality. When Ukraine reported war crimes, we believed them. Seeing US backstab Ukraine like that... It's just too much. I think the American brand is dead for us.

[–] Devanismyname@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

China has done about 1/100th the crap the us has. Even at its best, the us was overthrowing legitimate governments and destroying entire nations. China may not be perfect, but they are a whole hell of a lot better than the us.

[–] lennee@lemm.ee 0 points 1 day ago

China is a shit country. But like if you look at where they are coming from historically I think they are moving forwards. America is moving backwards. China has a ton of potential and I hope the chinese use it well. I am less hopeful for americans at this point.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Trump added that the result was very good for the US and 'the person who did the best is a very good person as far as we’re concerned'

Me too form together words too
