That's..... really fucking cool....
just... awesome 👍
Thank you for all you've done for the community!
Oh, whatever will we do without Disqus' slow ass crappy commenting platform????
People have warned about this risk since disqus started getting popular. Based on my experience, no matter how nice you try to be about it, people choosing this kind of solution can give zero fucks about this, and consider that immediate convenience trumps everything. So, cheh.
Wow I just emailed MyReadingManga asking them to delete my account cause I didn't need the email anymore and I couldn't change it, and now I see this. Wonder if they're gonna get hit with the ban. RIP, hopefully they do the conversion to threadiverse to save the comments since they are a WordPress site.
Never in a million years I would expect to see another MyReadingManga reader in lemmy.
I've been consuming BL, Yaoi and m/m since middle school, so I was scientifically engineered and fated to find MRM one day out of desperation. I'm also a cyber student and love looking up privacy shit for the fun of it, so I joined the fediverse. I used to be on there a lot but now I frequent AO3 more.
I felt like I was in on some crazy secret when I saw how one of the pirated manga (Tadaima Okaeri, the ABO one...) got an anime last year. Felt surreal knowing some of that stuff is actually getting published 😅
"Out of desperation" haha story of my life.
I've even tried to join as an Ao3 volunteer to give back to the community but rejected on the base that I sounded like I have a life. Blessing in disguise really, I don't think I have the mental capacity to handle so much online fandom discourse. 😅
Surreal, ABO have come so far from a random Supernatural kink meme fic prompt to a full blown anime. Respect.
That was how this morning I learned fitgirl had a comments section.
Why do pirate sites voluntarily leak all their data to big corporations?
dbzer0 will be taken down too one day
I never saw the point of having a comments section to some of these places.
Are you kidding me?
The amount of times I've helped and have been helped by people in the comments is not insignificant to be just ignored.
Especially websites like FitGirl, where you can help people fix issues with games, help them install patches and updates, and install mods on the cracked games.
This. So much this.
The comments section of Pirate Bay (back when it was good) was how I learned to troubleshoot pirate game installation.
Exactly this, has multiple times that people in the chat have solutions to issues I had.
I wonder and hope there will be a replacement for the chat system.
There absolutely will be. I don't see Fitgirl opting to not bother. The real concern is those messages getting preserved.
