Or lay them all out long ways and measure
Or lay them all out short ways and measure
Or lay them all out diagonally and use the Pythagorean theorum
Just look at how much you have when it's uncooked and then remember what that much looks like after it's been cooked? Should start to get an idea after a few hundred pots of pasta. 🙃👌
Noted. Start with a few hundred pots of pasta. Adjust from there.
Should work in theory 👌
Or you just say you cooked for many days.
Exactly. I just cook the entire box, make enough sauce, then portion it out from there. No need to fuck with figuring out how much dry pasta is reasonable.
My brothers and I use 500g... for 3 people. Yes we do eat a lot. And that's without the pesto, cheese etc
Yeah that's 2-3× servings per serving
That could be a reasonable amount based on the person. I'm a large framed dude, and when I was seriously trying to bulk through 7 days a week of HIIT, I had to eat like 5,000 Calories a day. My resting heart rate did get to the low 40s for a while, so that was cool (doctor said it was a good thing).
Btw, eating 5,000 Calories of healthy food a day fucking sucks. It's basically like eating is your full time job.
I agree that 2.5× the serving makes sense if your goal is to eat 2.5× the calories.
My mind is blown.
I'm quite thin, so nope I guess I do have a black hole in my stomach.
Once I get HRT I'll eat these kinds of portions more regularly to increase its effects.
I can eat 500g by myself in a sitting... or at least in my prime when i wheighed 100kg but still people looked horrified when they saw how much i ate.
In college I used to be able to down a full pound of pasta easily. Nowadays I get full after 20 noodles…
Wow! I use 200g for 2 people and I thought I was using a lot!
I usualy make around 200g... just for myself. It's not thaat crazy. I now a lot of people who do so. I'm a relatively thin dude. But to be fair I do a lot of sports (although I have been injured for the past 3 month and haven't stopped eating that much) I think it just realy depends on how effectively your body handles the food and therefore atrongly varies from person to person.
You make pasta when you want.
I make pasta out of soups...
We are not the same, and I'm not allowed to cook soups anymore.
Your dream of pasta and soup is real and it is beautiful, it's just called pho
Still must be consumed while fresh.
I fail to see this as a problem. More pasta is always welcome.
"it's Dean Martin's recipe, I always make too much"
How much dry pasta per person by weight?
Approximately .69 grams per kilogram should do it.
That's ... actually pretty accurate
0.69 x 75 ≈ 52
I eat at least twice that amount
Yes, overserving pasta is pretty common
you're saying I'm eating too much? for context this is when I'm only adding sauce and nothing else because a courgette alone is already too large to eat by myself
Look at this guy, he can't handle a whole courgette
mayve I should try it once
I do 150g with a light sauce, like aglio e olio or chili oil. Maybe 75g if it's going with a bunch of veg and meat.
A quarter or a third of a 500g pack depending on how hungry you are, 125g or 166g. In an Italian menu no more than 100g as a "primo", where the pasta dish is one of two main dishes and you are supposed to eat bread as a filler.
