Upgrades that cannot be changed. Don't force me to replay the entire game just to see what a different upgrade does. I'm my opinion, all games should let you rebuild your character pretty much whenever. I think BG3 did a good job of it with Withers. The price is low enough to not feel like a burden but high enough to not encourage you to cheese it. The only small downside of it is that Withers is technically an optional character you could miss. I think mechanics like this should just be baked in.

Agreed! It's so frustrating when I screw up a build, or realize I don't enjoy the build I made after investing too many hours.

Withers isn't optional, if you don't go to his crypt he still eventually shows up in your camp. His introduction is a bit truncated and confusing if I remember correctly, but I'm pretty sure you cannot get to the Mountain Pass or Shadow-cursed Lands without withers showing up first.

Ah, nice. That makes me feel better. Since some party members are sort of missable I assume.ed he was too.

Respeccing. It shouldn't be infinitely free, but I like games that allow you to pay (usually increasing amounts) to respec.

Related to this, in older games without this it was common practice to save up your skillpoints and just sit on them until you'd gotten a little further into the game and hopefully had a better idea how to spend them. What was massively frustrating in older games were when leveling up forced you to immediately spend the points instead of sitting on them.

Increasing costs or a limited amount of them are dumb in my opinion. Especially when so many games explain the specifics of their mechanics so poorly and at times downright incorrectly.
