The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Whoo boy, looks like the .world mods are enforcing silent compliance with fascist brutality again, thats a lot of highly upvoted deleted comments.

One of these days they'll suck the boot so far down their throats they'll asphyxiatiate, but at least they'll pass with joyful tears in their eyes.

Whenever I see "Removed by mod" on a .world community, I know it probably said something I agree with. News communities shouldn't be hosted there.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Maybe, but people need to learn to speak in plausible deniability. You can check the user's moderation history to see what they said. Fascists were able to advance their ideas without getting shutdown with indirect speak and double talk. Maybe we need to learn the same.

My comment was oblique; I agreed with an historical quote then made a LOTR reference. No overt calls for violence. Still removed.

e: Please check my moderation history to see what I said. I was the 3rd comment in that thread.

Fascists love to take the gun, but leave the cannoli…

[–] teft@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (3 children)

They were talking about watering the tree of liberty. I'm sure you can find the correct quote and infer who was being referenced.

Whenever I see "Removed by mod" I check the mod log to see what was said. Its one of the best ways to get me to read and up/down vote something.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time by patriots asking tyrants really nicely to please stop brutally oppressing them."

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago

It needs a lot of watering.

[–] skuzz@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are there recommended news subs that aren't hosted on .world?

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

!news@beehaw.org has lots of subscribers.

(e: ~23k)

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

How do I get to it. I’m in .world. Clicking link tells me it doesn’t exist. E: weren’t they defederated by .world?

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago

Stop being on world.

[–] Onyxonblack@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Leave lemmy.world obviously! Come join us at Lemmy.Zip

Or blahaj! We love everyone at blahaj as long as you don't hate us. Plus we have Ada.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Wait, you can’t see that instance from .world?

That sounds crazy. I’m not sure how this all works, but that sounds like a reason to create an account on a different instance, because it sounds like .world is censoring your content.

I can see pretty much all instances (unless I block them myself).

Or am I misunderstanding?

(Yes, I get defederation, but that seems overly restrictive)

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

.world defederate and blocked a ton of communities. obviously some of them seems bordering on illegal, but they are also blocking alot of other ones.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Could it be the other way around? Beehaw may have defedersted from World. They are a fairly restrictive instance much like blahaj zone.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

i can see why blahaj blocks, because its a trans centric instances.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh.i guess I wasn’t paying attention.

My instance has blocked all the shady shit, but apparently not as much as .world. And I don’t see shady shit, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

its mostly all Porn that are boedering on CSAM, or SA that have been blocked when i looked on the list.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wait, beehaw is? I guess I’m only subbed to the news community there, which was the second-most active news community after .world.

Is that instance shady?

I’ll stop recommending ot if so. O.o

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

i meant worlds was blocking some sketchy instances and communities.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Right, but is beehaw sketchy?

I’m not up on instances drama.

[–] skuzz@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 4 hours ago

Appreciate it! Subscription pending.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We need to move on from .world. Don’t upvote any posts here.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Should I not have upvoted your comment or….

e: I downvoted then upvoted you again to balance it out, just in case.

[–] stinky@redlemmy.com 4 points 1 day ago

There are smaller instances with better moderation staff.
