just dont bother man, all these people are being indocrinated. say good riddance and actually grow communities like old helpful reddit over here. if you want to consume short video content, online forum platforms are not it anyway.. and r-word platform is all that anyway. you will notice once you got warm here how infested r-word platform is

[–] arakhis_@feddit.org 4 points 1 month ago

This is just somebody trying to throw judgemental insults at a stereotype

Not really content you should be minding

to create scarcity - making sure you stay exploitable.

[–] arakhis_@feddit.org 1 points 1 month ago

meanwhile meta stealing terrabytes of copyrighted literature to train their AI on, meanwhile "step in the right direction" video game megacorporations yoinking your product license you bought because its not profitible, meanwhile nintendo shutting down emulators without any base other than having money over passionated indie emulation devs, meanwhile google using google fonts on desktop on literally every website or apps on your phone to bypass this sht anyway.

way too little way too late, these people see these cute upcoming fines as very profitable and non harmful business expenses.

I'm eager to find energy and test the demo. its already istalled too, haha

and the demo in 2025 is such a sad reality, golden age was so nice.. literally all games always had demos :'(

its all censoring for corpos and instagram/tiktok like video posts anyway nowadays. this place here is so much less rage inducing (by design, the userbase and their behaviour is just a result of that in the end)

I use it all the time for my llm demands (trivial explanations and other smaller prompts)

works like a charm, dont really miss other llm's. sometimes (1 in 100+ prompts) I catch myself comparing to other llm's for "better" answers and then always I realize this is not a good thing to ask llm's anyways (reliability, research confirmation needed, etc)

can recommend!

nobody cares, rug-pull-trump

At least in my perception the initial reactions to Marathon are overwhelmingly bad and for Arc Raiders overwhelmingly good Im genuinely interested in what key differences these two extractor shooters bear to spark such a delta since I like to talk about game design specifics.

So what do you think in specific, like what is that much better in arc raiders to compete with established blockbusters like tarkov?

Marathon is "just another extraction shooter" is what I heard as a sentiment. So this is going off the assumption that both games do nothing new as in "been there done that"

My imperssions of Marathon:

  • I see how "graphical realism" art style is a complete flop - personally as a trained media designer (elements on the map i.e. having that printer test stamp - very cliche)
  • gun models and characters feel like they are not worthy of that universe
  • the running shield animations dont help that either haha
  • personally dislike hero shooter elements
  • UI design aesthetic is very intern-level and execution often questionable (visual weighting off, uninteresting/overloaded pictograms) -> but: the implementation of the one in-game at least seems to have high level execution weirdly enough.

-> but: Gunplay seems fresh? Like no game has done that responsive recoil feedback before, no?

-> but: sound design seems very good too?

Arc Raiders has some really strong points I see:

  • The audio design is top (not a sound designer so cant tell you specifics).
  • The UI in the A to A- department, only adding responsive UI elements and other fancy tech could add as a final optional highlight.
  • Presentation and staging of the world elements seems abolutely like a blockbuster movie. Huge structures and generally a feel like youre in that post apocalyptic rebel world.

-> but: The long term combat appeal of arc is questionable, progression and long term motivation unclear.

That seems a little lacking for such negative rating, sure addicted gamers tend to be very emotional about these things but idk - even more laid back people seem to agree with these evaluations - in sum these points above are smaller likes or dislikes, but in its essence and gameplay both games do nothing much different - dont they?

Is it because the dev studio's reputations mainly? Also marathon having such a rich backbone, feels like its disrespected by the studio. Tell me my what specifics you like and dislike in these titles - did you feel different about the games?

Hear me out: Had these ideas to ensure lemmy doesn't derail into a short video/meme spiral like every other social platform

  • Additional (more specific) up/downvote buttons.

Like "original vs generic", "low effort vs detailed"

Not only can we ensure the engagement doesn't derail into an X-like anarchy or Instagram meme fest, but we can also then sort comments by parameters (ie. you've seen 20 pun comments about the headline and broad topic at hand but want to see actual thoughts about a linked article)

Another idea:

  • Instances are commonly offering donation buttons since they need to fund the servers. What if we tied cosmetic "superlike" awards to donations.

Thoughts? Very interested in your inputs/adaptations to my ideas or other cool concepts you have to ensure lemmy staying solid while growing

And nobody seems to bother (or highlight it which would be the job of the commenter)

I just browsed the feed for 20 mins after a month off being sober and don't miss the disguised instagram feed at all - short videos, meme comments, no old forum experience whatsoever. But thankfully we have that on Lemmy now, so Lemmy try that :)

Btw I didnt even read more than 5 comments total.. heres examples:

EDIT: look at how many "people" reply to that stuff - what a sheit show

Like can we make this a more vocal opinion that Triple-A studios/publishers are like legally required to offer a version.. Or what is your take on that, especially if you have a similar opinion with a deviation in execution. let me know why if you dont agree too!

I'd love to have and collect DRM free titles that last even after a platform is gone, also ubi cant pull off clown shows like the crew or whatever racing game they just erased out of power tripping spite

Thoughts on features to boost intent for posting more?

Like a karma system of that other forum website.

I currently miss a point system to motivate me that shows people via my profile how much I could help by posting/commenting. There's no system to create such feedback currently on Lemmy.

Are there statements by the creators of this platform about that?

What would be your top 5 most important and impactful product/service to switch from US to European?

And bonus question: What is one product/service you think is not as imlactful as another product/service or as others think?

My top 5(and choice):

  • Search engine (Qwant)

  • AI chatbot (mistralAI)

  • Map app (mapyCZ)

  • Mobility: selling US cars (this one should have easy EU choices)

  • Food (may be very hard for some, but I think everyone should invest a lot of time into this topic)

.

Tech services neeeed(!) to be switched, since data is crucial in modern age. Oh also ofc don't use chrome based browsers.

.

Search: French Qwant.com is shockingly good, results, even in images is identical to Google/Bing. it has no AI integration which is fine, just use mistral. Only image search need a little refinement like a search for more identical of selected imagery. .

AI: chat.Mistral.ai is French and does the job to answer ie more specific but not too scientific questions.

.

Map: pleased with mapy.cz, ofc no street view but everything else, adding images of places is our job

.

Car: preferably even trying public transport+cycling or just cycling for groceries is a lot already or go for EU car if still needed for whatever degree

.

Food: this is a big topic, so I'll be general. I'd say don't be perfect. Go for the essentials you buy most. If you replace these, already rate that as a win. Because every brand is just a pseudo of a likely American corporation behind

There's a couple listed on fedditOrg's description, but now I wonder which interfaces you guys use and how to find all the options

Also are they limited to my account? As in I'd need to create a second lemmy account under another community like lemmy.world for other interface "skins"

Untalended guy in programming here.

  • Is there a way to change the flavicon(icon in the tab preview as I understand) to another fediverse platform?

I currently have "mouse in flag colors" as an icon based on feddit org. But I would prefer for example the feddit IT logo - orange mouse, clean design)

Is that possible to change with like tampermonkey addon or something somehow in a rather easy way? I have an addon called "TwitterBird" for Mozilla replacing all X logos with the old blue twitter logo

  • Or is there even a better way to accomplish this without creating an additional account to swap to all the time?

Whats the best way to take action for me as a single user? What kind of posts should I focus on making? Ive heard of fetching reddit posts, maybe I could do that if theres like an easy process to do so, I'd happily feed some communities I like with posts from the silicon valley mafia platform to this platform!

Also whats the name of this platform? I registered under feddit org, is the umbrella term called fediverse? Accroding to wiki then this(fediverse) should be linked to platforms like pixelfed and mastadon too, is it? How do I see content from them or in what way are these platforms interlinked with this reddit styled one?
