5 Stages of Grief.

OP is trying to cope with the realization that the US is now autocratizing

I think Lemmy ran out of Beans, so someone decided to make that as a joke.

You'll need a left of center president that is willing to use violence.

I am not sure if even a president Bernie would pardon a leftwing "Jan 6"

Besides, if you die, the pardon doesn't matter anymore.

Hello from lemmy.dbzer0.com

👀

wonder what the new signup stats on my instance is...

@db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com What the stats be, captain?

The neighbors are CIA Agents trying to use MKULTRA on OP.

YOU'VE ACTIVATED THE CURSE!

YOU'VE DOOMED THE UNIVERSE

😭

(I mean I get it tho. I have germaphobia, I get the struggle.)

Carry pepper spray?

Edit: I mean, you can't really use it in the elevator, but just have it in case.

🤔

(Do lemmings just never talk to people irl?)

Interpol? I found your suspect!

If you are 75% good, your counterpart will be 75% evil.

If you are 99% good, your counterpart will be 99% evil.

What do you do if you meet your evil counterpart?

If you are asking if a racist can become less racist, yes, but only if they spend time around people of other races often (and is willing to be open minded)

I'll tell you that, if I didn't immigrate to the US, and I was in China, I'd probably be very xenophobia against non-Chinese people, due to the lack of exposure to other people.

So in this timeline, I'm a Social Democrat that is accepting of LGBT+ people and people of other races.

In the other timeline, the one in which I did not immigrate to the US, who knows, maybe I'd be some Han-Supremacist Chinese-Nationalist?

When I think about stuff like the multiverse and stuff, its kinda unsettlling how different the diverging timelines could be.

I mean, there are probably "racist" versions of yourselves in another timeline, just saying. 👀

Why use sponsor block? I want to know what sponsors my videos have, because if I see a "Honey" or a "Betterhelp" I'm gonna close the video.

I’ve stopped trusting automatic time adjustments since then.

AFIAK its built in. I like to turn off my automatic time setting to see how much the clock would drift (just curious lol), and the clock still jumped forward.

So Snowflake is apparantly harder to censor? But if I run a Snowflake on my home internet, and my home internet never changes its IP address (my home internet has the same IP address for like months at a time), so once a goverment finds out my IP, they would block it, so its not much different from a Tor Bridge?

How is Snowflake harder to censor? Can someone explain it?

An autocratic country could easily spread propaganda in the democratic country, because of "free speech" rules that most democratic countries have, but a democratic country cannot easily spread its propaganda in the autocratic country.

An autocratic country can buy an election in the democratic country, but the democratic country cannot easily coup an autocratic country.

Are all democracies are doomed to fail?

Is the future of humanity, autocracy? For the rest of humanity's existence?

I have a feeling they're gonna charge like $200 to $400 more then blame the regulators.

Where do I find cyanide btw?

If you murdered every murderer, you should get enough points to go to The Good Place, right?

Hypothetically speaking of course. I'm obliged by lemmy.world rules to state that I do not condone murder. 😉

Especially in cases of Naturalization.

Like, if the monarch goes against the constitution, do you fight for the monarch, or defend the parliament/cabinet?

🤔

Edit:

UK Oath:

I, (name), swear by Almighty God that, on becoming a British citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III, his Heirs and Successors, according to law.

Canada (A British Commonwealth) Oath:

I swear (or affirm) That I will be faithful And bear true allegiance To His Majesty King Charles the Third King of Canada His Heirs and Successors And that I will faithfully observe The laws of Canada Including the Constitution Which recognizes and affirms The Aboriginal and treaty rights of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples And fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.

So...

🤔

I mean on the one hand, they are more democratic than the US, on the other hand, symbolically, it just feels wrong to me.

I don't mind pledging allegience to a constitution, but to a monarch... is quite... uncomfortable, even if its a Constitutional Monarchy. 🤔
