I honestly wondered if those are her real teeth, they seem like the wrong size and number

One Roman writer during the Empire, if memory serves, bitches about women in public wearing silk so thin that it was see-through

“Thy bride might as well clothe herself with a garment of the wind as stand forth publicly naked under her clouds of muslin.” — First-century C.E. Roman author Petronius.

He was talking about Dhaka muslin

Bill Gates knows better than most that there's enough money in the world to try and tackle both climate change and poverty, and still leave him a billionaire.

I think the wording that really bugs me in his quote is "healthy and productive life". If all the alarms are true we're already fucked on climate, so he's concerned about maintaining a labor force.

Here is the study.

This was such a complex study, if I'm reading it correctly. Ultimately they ruled out other parts of the vaccine to find what was causing the immune response "reset", and found it was only the mRNA that was eliciting the response.

My dog and I were attacked last year by an off-leash dog while walking our neighborhood. Both myself and the other owner had to provide proof of rabies vaccination to animal control. Their dog drew blood on me and mine punctured the other dog's ear while defending me. If they couldn't provide proof, or if there was history of previous human bites the dog would have been put down. In my state, anyway.

The vaccine I usually hear people turning down out here is the rattlesnake venom vaccine.

This is the first time I've seen what they plan for it to look like. Cheap-ass kitchen chairs, tacky table settings, random AI human-blobs. The ceilings, windows, and chandeliers all inspired by the historical period when slavery was still legal

I'm about to list my house for 20k more than I purchased it 3 years ago. When it goes on the market there will only be two other houses in the same price range (~100k range, with mine in the middle).

What she's saying is so insanely out of touch. That's a 70+ year old house and my elderly millennial ass could just afford it after years of saving

I won't be recomping the improvements I made to the house, that 20k is basically going to the realtors lol

By the time I was a teenager I had some idea that what was happening to me wasnt "normal" but I didn't understand just how bad it was until I was an adult. My peers would sometimes stare in shock at what I was complaining about, but I think if an adult had tried to intervene I might have understood the severity of my parent's actions.

Young me was fairly terrified of everything, but I think we would bond over music. I work with teens that have similar issues now, so I know I'd at least be able to put myself at ease lol

Top center is Timothée Chalamet (Dune). No idea who the rest are though

I feel like Spotify's recommendations have seriously gone downhill in the last two or three years. Most of the new music I actually like I've found in music comms on Lemmy

I remember having BMI tests before training and once in boot camp, but not after I got to my first duty station. I was quite underweight when I was serving, but that was so long ago that I assumed they'd moved on to a better standard by now lol
