I just need to vent...My heart is nearly broken

He's been in pain for over a week now. Different clinics and different explanations to what could be wrong...all pain medication dont seem to help.

Today our own vet got xray photos and other documentation and she thinks it's meningitis. He got a shot and he just got up to eat and drink for the first time today also went out in the yard and peed for like 30 seconds... I was so happy.

Really hope he's going to get better from this medication.

The photo is from a lovely rainy day in the forest a couple of months ago. Send lovely thoughts to my pup please. Thank you

Edit:

Thank you all for your words. It means a lot to me that so many reached out.

My pup had an ok night, at least he is stable, wants to go outside and do his business and wants to eat and drink.

Im hopefull about seeing some progress over the next days🙂

FWIW from a rando, I really hope he does feel better very soon. I'm sorry you're going through this, but I wish him a full and speedy recovery for the holidays. He's an adorable buddy.

Thank you.

He really is... Everyone he meets falls in love with him🙂

That’s easy to see why!

Hope it goes better than for my oldman...he turned 14 in early November and 3 weeks later he woke up with a terrible limp. After tests and xrays it was concluded he had a tumor in his leg and since he weighed in at 45kg and his age would set some for an amputation. So he went to sleep 6 days ago...

again, hope it works out for you and your little buddy...

Thank you

Sorry to hear your loss. Im sure you gave him the best life.

I was unprepared for the heartbreak. I thought i would be better at handling it but im a blubbering mess.

I believe i did. he was a rescue and we entered each others life when he was 1 year old. He went to sleep the day after his gotcha day.

i thought i was ready...but i wasn't...

I had a dog pass in march of this year. She was in pain from some unknown illness and it broke my heart that I couldn’t fix her.

I hope he feels better soon.

Im so sorry for your loss. I completely understand the pain.

I just want to help him but it's so hard to figure out what to do.

Sounds like they’re on the mend, and I hope they are- when they’re up to it…. Give him some belly rubs for me?

[–] Mr_lobber_lobber@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Belly was rubbed. Tail was wagged🙂

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Tail wags are a good sign! Hope he’s getting back to his usual self.

I hope he is feeling back to his old muddy self soon. Give him an extra treat for me when that happens.

Yay! Thanks for the update. Having an appetite is a huge positive sign. We're all still thinking of him.
