Just replace it with a coat hanger, now your circuit will never break.

Or a bullet for an audible fuse.

An FU-se you say?

Don't know if it's also for the old ones but modern breakers one more layer of safety that won't let power through if you hold it.

Remove the breaker and replace it with a coat hanger

Penny'll start a fire.

Thats an older GE breaker I think. In my experience probably 2% of the ones I get are crap tbh. Easy fix though, just swap it. I see stuff like this a lot, either it won't switch off or trip correctly or just dies.

Pretty normal problem, as an electrician

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

The problem is an electrician?

[–] LordKitsuna@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It must be, every time I've ever had a problem with electricity if you look back far enough it was an electrician that set it up. Coincidence? I think not

They forgot to say "Hold on to your butts" before flipping it. That's the problem.

why don't catbox.moe links work for me?

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I don't have any inside information, I've just read lemmy comments about it, but apparently there are a lot of source IP's they block. I don't know that I've ever seen a reason why, but I'm guessing for either legality or privacy reasons.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

that's pretty lame. 🤷 guess I don't get to have fun.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

My condolences to you. A VPN might help, though I think those are a lot of what they block. My phone (which is my primary method of accessing lemmy) has an always on VPN; some endpoints work for catbox, some don't.
