Summary

Seventy days into his second term, Donald Trump faces growing internal turmoil and public backlash. Allies report he’s making late-night angry calls, upset over negative press and policy setbacks.

The "Signalgate" scandal and GOP resistance to new tariffs have shaken his administration. Trump blames National Security Adviser Mike Waltz for a messaging blunder and resents criticism of his deportation efforts.

His attempts to end wars in Gaza and Ukraine have faltered.

Republicans fear economic fallout from his trade policies, raising concerns about recession and inflation.

Oh, to be a ketchup stain on the wall...

It's probably like this downfall scene, except with dementia and pants-shitting.

He has two options: 1) Stop doing stupid shit, or 2) Destroy the media, replace it with propaganda outlets.

Guess which one he'll do.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 61 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

You forgot #3, do something else crazy to try and distract from this failure. But #2 is definitely in the cards as well.

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 17 points 21 hours ago (8 children)

#2 is happening, but it's too hard for Trump - fortunately for him there are people with their own agendas to do it for him. #3 is his only move because he can't conceive of a better strategy.

The fact that McHitler hasn't stroked out by now is all the proof I really need to say that there is no god directing all this shit.

[–] Crikeste@lemm.ee 20 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Around 13,000 children under the age of 5 die every day. I’d love to see god explain that lol

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 16 points 15 hours ago

Lucifer: I'm not in the business of murdering innocent children. That's God's jurisdiction.

Been thinking about that myself, with my shitty religious upbringing. This is what god wants. And, if you're Jewish and you've at least heard the phrase "god's chosen people," I just wonder how you square that with one of the worst people to live having killed 6 million of them. God was really looking out for the chosen people that day, let me tell ya...

My dad is 60 and has had a stroke in Janurary. He's far from perfect, but he's been a good role model for me, made me a better person, and helped me when I realized my mom was more insane each passing day.

This fucker is the oldest one, looks worse, is angry 24/7, and hasn't had one.

Life is a cruel joke.

And the media is playing softball with him. This is the media not calling him out on all his bullshit.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 16 points 10 hours ago

Exactly. If we actually had a real oppositional "liberal media", they'd be tearing this asshat a new one for his dumbfuckery.

The orange cunt would have an aneurysm if only the "Press" actually treated him fairly. Instead they sane wash his bullshit, and tiptoe around him without ever using the words "Liar", "convicted felon" or "rapist"..... The press have never treated anyone so favorably, and still he whines and cries like a stuck little pig. He gets $1 billion free publicity every single day. Fuck him with a cactus. No lube ! Edit: And fuck the press! They are responsible for Drumpf!

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Leave the poor cactus out of this. This is why man invented angle grinders.

Who knew that hiring people based on how much they suck up to you would mean that everyone on your team (including yourself) is incompetent?

His attempts to end wars in Gaza and Ukraine have faltered?

What plans? He's not even tried to do either one in even a meaningless, symbolic way.

[–] PolarKraken@sh.itjust.works 19 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

For real, what a braindead (at best) thing to say. His attempts to ethnically cleanse Palestine and build resorts on the coast, and his attempts to steal mineral wealth from Ukraine while under brutal attack by Russia, those attempts have faltered? Yeah, thankfully they have, I'm sure he's still trying though.

I'm so tired of all the "reasonable language" used for this administration. It just amounts to flat out lying to avoid upsetting the very worst fucking people. Again - at best - that's me being charitable, there are even worse motivations than that of course.

I'm so fucking tired of the incessant sane-washing. Just constant gaslighting from all sides to make me feel crazy for freaking out about this shit. I'm sick of it

[–] drhodl@lemmy.world 14 points 15 hours ago

Be fair. He tried nothing and is all out of ideas.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 13 points 14 hours ago

Well he did yell at Zelensky?

This is just how he is. He did the same in his first term. If you took away anger and resentment, he wouldn't have a lot else left in his life.

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 29 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I also love how he ran as a reformer candidate, as if we didn't have 4 years of evidence of him accomplishing nothing of value for his voters. Social media and 24/7 news have given us all goldfish memories.

[–] AlternatePersonMan@lemmy.world 29 points 20 hours ago (4 children)

It breaks my brain that people voted for him to help the economy. Without even getting into how bad conservatives are for the economy, Trump's first term had crazy high inflation, job loss, and economic crashes. Why would his second term miraculously be the solution to fixing the problems he started?

I'm supposing this dumbfuck really thought he was going to get praise for this?

The problem is that he's been safely ensconced in a bubble his entire fucking life. He's Patient Zero when it comes to rich white failsons failing upwards, FFS.

[–] cantstopthesignal@sh.itjust.works 12 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

He thought he could make more fake deals and get good press, but the nihilist tech bro backed death cult had other ideas.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 35 points 21 hours ago

That put a smile on my face, thanks :)

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 31 points 21 hours ago

"friends" 🤣

[–] Melatonin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 15 hours ago

Thing is, he's not doing anything. He's just riding the train. He doesn't understand or care about the stuff the people around him are doing. He believed them when they said it would make him beloved.

He's just an idiot snake oil salesman.

[–] llamatron@lemmy.world 24 points 6 hours ago

Will no one rid us of this turbulent moron?

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 21 points 21 hours ago

Trump blames everyone but Trump.

Take direction from a rapist and you’re bound to get raped.

America; The world will happily move along without you.

Enjoy your reduced airfares to the beautiful Russian city of Siberia in one of Trumps own resorts.

Wonder in amazement on your tour of the potash fields in Belarus as you get a komplimentary Putin Tramp stamp across your backside.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 20 points 4 hours ago

It will end up like brexit. Most people who voted for him will stay in the sect no matter what. When enough people finally switch to hand power back to the democrats it will be too late to simply reverse most of what Trump did and slow rebuilding will start. If Democrats elect competent leaders they will actually fix things. If not they will just continue working with what Trump left for them (like with Starmer)

I can tell this is fake news because it implies trump has friends.

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 12 points 7 hours ago
