☝️ The very nib of it.
And the third is broken into two pieces
The last time that happened to me, the delivery service refunded that item, so it was actually mildly enjoyable.
You may have seen my "I’m gonna repost this comment every time I see this type of submission in this community" comments recently. They received positive responses, but after realizing that this type of content is most of the community, I decided a full post would be more productive to the conversation and feel less passive-aggressive.
I find it mildly infuriating that people don’t know what kinds of posts are mildly infuriating.
It makes me sad. Because I would like a community and posts that follow the name, and this one specifically.
Are we okay with the “mildly infuriating” community becoming a “news that really upset me” community?
Note that Reddit's /r/MildlyInfuriating spawned /r/ActuallyInfuriating for stuff that is more severe.
Searching on lemmyverse.net shows that we do have an /r/ActuallyInfuriating analog at !actually_infuriating@lemmy.world.
Maybe the community mods might consider putting it in the sidebar? @Aer@lemmy.world, @Striker@lemmy.world, @Tenthrow@lemmy.world?
It actually is mentioned in the sidebar, though they should make it a hotlink
!actuallyinfuriating
Ah, yeah, thanks, though the community name is incorrect (needs an underscore) and is missing the instance name.
There's even politically-related and news-related posts there too!
Some people just simply don't care and refuse to actually read that they just contaminate instances with unrelated posts.
I dont think Ive ever seen a post on mildlyinfurating that wasnt scorched earth, everyone dies, fucking mega mental infuriating. Its right up there with aita and all its "So I reported the guy who raped me to the police. Some friends are saying I did the right thing, but some family are saying I should have just worked it out. Am I the asshole?" posts.
I added it to the sidebar. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for adding it!
I completely agree with your four examples.
I attribute it primarily to the issue every voting aggregator platform has.
Most people don't go into the community specifically, and browse that content, and then vote on it in the context of that community. Most people see the posts in their feed of mixed communities and content.
I remember having made 3 reports of some news-related articles that got posted here on another account because they didn't belong.
And guess what? Those reports were shot down and the posts remained. So some mod here seems to believe that it's okay to try and turn this instance into yet another news-related outlet, not like we have several dozen of them already.
It's annoying. Like, sure, if they really, really want to stretch the definition of what counts as "mildly infuriating", they can. I don't think we will ever come to a concrete definition of it. But that just invalidates the whole point of having communities. I would expect more or less "this sucks, but I can live with that" kind of contents, but certainly not "someone wrongfully jailed" or something like that.
I subbed to this community but the barrage of political posts makes me want to unsub. I came here for amusingly infuriating posts not a constant reminder of how fucked up politics are (I'm not even in the US)
I totally agree on all counts. Would love to see more actually mildly infuriating posts here. Leave the heavy actually infuriating posts for the other com
