To summarize, according to Trump:

  1. Ranchers are doing better than they have been for 20 years because of his tariffs since his tariffs slowed down buying beef from other places.

  2. But those same ranchers need to lower their prices.

  3. So we're going to buy beef from other places to lower prices.

It's almost like we're going right back to where we were!

But you are forgetting the key part: the Narcissist in Chief can take credit for his bold leadership on every step, never mind the fact we didn't get anywhere.

Ok, so from this corner, we're going to go to the other end of the block and turn right

Then, we'll go to the other end of the block and turn right

After that, we'll go to the other end of the block and turn right

Finally, we'll go to the other end of the block and turn right

Leadership!

What you fail to mention is, at every turn the road slopes downwards.

The Potemkin presidency.

What a narcissistic shit bag. Nothing is ever his fault. He is always right, and everyone else is always wrong.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

That's how he gets to make an idiotic hat for his followers to put on their heads so they can identify themselves with the modern dunce cap: "Trump was right about everything".

Your opinion on Trump really is the ultimate test of whether or not you are stupid

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ranchers definitely do not understand tariffs, if they did they wouldn't have overwhelmingly voted for Trump and Republicans. It's not like there was any kind of secret about the plan to impose tariffs on Americans, Trump couldn't even answer a question about childcare without mentioning tariffs during the campaign. Now ranchers are feeling the consequences of their vote and we get to hear their "he's hurting the wrong people" bullshit, like they didn't choose to do this to themselves.

I saw a video from a farmer who said they knew Trump was going to screw them, but that he’d bail them out afterward. They were after that sweet, sweet taxpayer cash.

And they get to hold on to that family land that's now worth millions of dollars. How fun for everyone else paying for their family wealth, while they vote for people screaming that everyone else that's not them is lazy and freeloading off the government teat...

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

The tariffs are doing what they always and inevitably do.

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's at least one title a day with the word 'slam' in it.

For me it always reads like a pokemon battle.

They hurt themselves in their confusion!

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Whats to understand. The orange tumor sold you out and you are having the experience you voted for.

[–] CommissarKrieg@leminal.space 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Why would they? It’s not like it directly affects and jeopardizes their livelihood

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

They don't understand how the tariffs helped them because the tariffs DIDN'T help them.

Ffs I wish he'd die already

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean, they don't understand tariffs.

Because they're stupid as fuck.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Farmers are pretty smart on trade matters. They don't have the option of endlessly bullshitting and failing upwards.
