Shame he can no longer bring Charlie Kirk onto his podcast to talk about it.

Yeah, that's a real pain in the neck, huh?

Charlie adored Ayn Rand and ended his life with an interpretive performance of The Fountain-head

Still amazed the shooter didn't get him in the head.

I like the poetic justice that the bullet destroyed the organ he used to spout hate

it's worse now all the ChristNazis can mourn their martyr and opine on "What Would Charlie Do"

They are so so SO much like the Muslims performatively wailing over their martyrs

It's weird to see people turn to "Muslim Martyrs" when the neater parallel to a Christian Nationalist organization would be Catholic Saints.

I've seen more than one person comment on Kirk being "The First Protestant Saint". Although, we'll see if it sticks. Barely two weeks since his death and his name has already dropped off the radar in favor of Shiny New Thing.

[–] Addv4@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They're already beginning to try.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

They tried it with Cuomo, too.

On the one hand, Newsom is jettisoning any semblance he had of adulthood, statesmanship, diplomacy

OTOH, that's how the last successful guy did it

Shouldn't this say *again?

It cannot be overstated that - just like after '18/'19 - the GOP controls all branches of federal government and a plurality of statewide offices, to boot.

Any sane and objective media coverage of this shutdown would put the blame squarely on them. But when your big media rags are all owned and operated by the Silicon Valley Tech Sector and these guys have thrown in entirely with the Trump regime, we're going to continue to get MSNBC clips of Hakeem Jeffries embarrassing himself in 5 second soundbites while Donald Trump gets an open mic to rant about how this is everyone's fault but his.

Not exactly unprecedented but I found this interesting...

collapsed inline media

[–] orbitz@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

Plus that whole tweet he did about a government shutdown being all the fault of the president when Obama was in office. But of course that's not the same cause he's a grifter, Trump that is, not Obama just to be clear.

He prolly shut it down so he could finish gathering all the Epstein Files, so they can be presented unredacted in toto.
