Keep in mind that the person who rat' on Luigi did not get a cent.

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 14 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Well, you see, that person just called the police and not the tip line, so that doesn't qualify as information leading to his arrest. 🙄

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Is that the actual reason they're going with?

[–] darkdemize@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago

That is what I heard, but I haven't seen independent confirmation.

Stupid is what stupid does.

Lol, the reward could be 1 BILLION dollars... they wont pay it out

[–] crank0271@lemmy.world 27 points 5 days ago

There's been discussion on here of what percentage of crime tips and rewards are paid out, and this administration already has quite the reputation for not paying their bills.

Hard to tell from the super distant and grainy video, but I'm not seeing a gun. Anyone else?

Granted, I'm not familiar with how a Mauser .30-06 breaks down either, my experience with that caliber is my grand-dad's Remington 721 that I inherited.

But on that gun, even if you remove the barrel, the wood stock aint fitting in a backpack.

(721 is super dangerous too! Can fire without touching the trigger. Mine has been fixed:

They'll never find the shooter.

They're being told not to.

ETA: Looks like they found somebody! And guess what. He's a Magat.

All the worst traits of the Lannisters, incest included, but at least the Lannisters paid their debts.

So if he was smart enough to buy new clothes, new hat, new sunglasses and then ditch them right after the shooting, then they have nothing to track him down with?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Go one better... You buy distinct clothes that stand out just for the shooting, then burn them after and go back to your normal clothes.

[–] Ep1cFac3pa1m@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

I mean, yeah…if nobody has ever seen you wear these clothes before, and you change immediately after the crime, and then drop the clothes in like 3 or 4 different dumpsters or trash cans in different places, how would they ever link it back to you? Especially if you buy all the clothes in different places, too, and pay with cash.

[–] teft@piefed.social 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If you’ve ever had your dna or a family members dna put into a federal database (military, cops, prisoners) then they can track you via incidental dna recovered from the clothing.

Trash bag it up and toss it in general trash nowhere near the crime scene, preferably on a collection day. It could even be your personal trash. What are they gonna do, dragnet every pound of garbage disposal nationwide?

[–] teft@piefed.social 2 points 5 days ago

Well you are escaping so you’re going to ditch that clothing asap since it’s evidence of your wrongdoings. That means the cops only have to search the trash cans close to the area. Kind of like how they found the rifle close to the area.

The only question that springs to my mind is, to what lengths will Donald Trump go to stop the Epstein Files from being released?
