This should be paired for contrast, as often as possible, with a collage of right-wing poster reactions mocking, minimizing or disputing the murder of Melissa Hortman and her husband.

[–] SL3wvmnas@discuss.tchncs.de 41 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Well interestingly I could not find Kirk saying anything about Melissa Hortmans killing. That day is chock full of huge boner post for Israel Iranian War. When another shooting happened a day later he said (excerpt):

now today's diabolical attack in Minnesota, allegedly by Vance Luther Boelter.

There are far too many mentally unstable and suggestible people on the left …

With lots of decoration, projection and minimization around this tidbit. Full text

Edit: I'm aware Boelter turned out to be more of a Christo-Fascist. That's why I found Kirk immediately blaming "the left" without knowing anything so weird.

All for a guy that's not even a politician .

Nazi's murdered a dem senator and the no one really flipped hell kirk probably laughed. But now Nazi's want an excuse to shoot up and bomb cities ?

[–] BestBouclettes@jlai.lu 44 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And very likely that the shooter was a Republican. They're just looking for an excuse to go full Nazis on the "opposition"

Love the guy saying it's like the Reichstag fire. So the shooter is a nazi?

[–] Akrenion@slrpnk.net 52 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That one got to me. There is a strong reason to believe the Reichstagsfire was a self incited crisis to justify a power grab. Why do people think this is a good comparison?

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 day ago

Well, in this case that could be a perfect comparison. Maybe that person knows something we don't...

I mean most likely. My theory is that it's some QAnon guy pissed about the Epstein stuff.

I love the guy calling it the American Reichstag Fire. Oh boy, if only he knew German history.

[–] LadyAutumn@lemmy.blahaj.zone 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Right? Like wow, so youre putting the Trump administration in the position of the Nazi party in this thought experiment. How revealing.

They havent even caught the shooter... they dont even know they are a leftist.

They could be, likely are, but it doesnt matter. If it turns out to have been someone on the right or someone from outside the US political spectrum it will be swept under the rug.

The right are hijacking this to spread propaganda. Utter bollocks

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (3 children)

WSJ published a story this morning reporting that “sources” claim they found a hunting rifle in the woods and unspent ammo that had “trans and antifa ideology” written on them.

If that sounds ridiculous, that’s because it is.

It's not even likely. I was born in 1980 there have been thousands of mass shootings since then in the US. Two of the shooters in the last 45 years had leftist tendencies. The vast majority of them were hard line right wingers.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

My money is and forever will be on right winger mad about how quickly Kirk got in line on Epstein.

Tell me again how many right wing nut jobs have been shooting up the US the last few decades.

[–] popjam@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There's a good chance this guy was one too, he just disagreed on Kirk's favourite pizza topping or something

Total silence regarding those two lawmakers though, weird.

[–] elbiter@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's what MAGAs do: they'll ask you to be extremely polite and civil, reproach your jokes and ask for human compassion while burning crosses at your door.

This may age like milk but, I look forward to the conversation in two weeks when these same voices age saying

"we need to move on from the tragedy of the Charlie Kirk shooting"

And

"Charlie Kirk did not represent true conservative values"

in two weeks from now trump will be back posting memes about killing dems and the media will blame dems for the lack of civility

John Brown and Luigi Mangione did nothing wrong. Kirk’s shooter didn’t either. The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing. While illegal, killing fascists and fascist sympathizers is morally just.

Rot in piss, Charlie

And remember when the violent left went and made all kind of unhinged tweets supporting political violence and retribution against conservatives all over America after Melissa Hortman and her husband in a act of politically motivated violence? When the same thing happened when Paul Pelosi was nearly killed and the violent left declared war and the extermination of Republicans?

Yeah, not even pepperidge farms remembers that because the Right has nothing but projection.

[–] ThisSeriesIsFalse@lemmy.ca 43 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fuck, it would be so pathetically hilarious for the second American civil war to start over Charlie fucking Kirk of all people. It'd be like if WW1 started because the pet fish of the wife of the cousin of the Archdike's brother was shot.

Amount of Russian assets, bots and useful idiots are going rampant. They want US to go to civil war.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

Absolutely they do. If America falls to civil war, it's sphere of influence contracts and Russia becomes more powerful in that vacuum.

I feel really bad for Charlie Kirk, he was about 2 years away from continuing to declare school shootings make us free while having a school aged child. That level of hypocrisy is what they live for, and he never got it ;_;

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 37 points 1 day ago (2 children)

"charlie kirk being 'assassinated' is the American equivalent of reichstag fire"?

"complete crackdown"?

You know you're admitting to being a nazi, right?

The fucking hypocrisy of calling it the reichtag (excuse my spelling) fire.

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 31 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yeah that was a very interesting thing to post. Unless the poster is a public Nazi, it shows a really poor understanding of history

They've been wanting a war ever since their great grandaddies got their asses handed to them by the union armies. If we give it to them this time, I propose we totally eradicate them rather than waste time on a second Reconstruction

These cheeseburger Nazis are mouth foaming because they know the left will curl their tail and end up apologizing for such an act of violence, hence owning said act.

How about instead we answer back with Bring it on, Nazis!

Not a single one of these assholes is going to grab his fetish rifle and march down the street hunting liberals, whatever that means.

[–] BaroqueBobby@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (6 children)

Uh, two politicians are dead in Minnesota thanks to a cheeseburger nazi

These people are going through the stages of grief.

First they were in denial he was shot, now they are angry, soon they will bargain for blood. Then one by one become depressed with acceptance.

Such is life

How's this any different from their usual calls to violence? How do their threats differ from the right wing assassins, Queer space shootings, planned parenthood and abortion clinic bombings?

They want chaos. Laugh mockingly

[–] nimble@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Id love to see an actual suspect before they spin this for something that could've been one of their own (again). But i guess that's the great thing about a cult is you can lie to them and distract them from the truth

Interesting how I just got done mentioning in another thread that they essentially just flip the truth on its head and start talking. Pretty much just the direct opposite of the truth all the time.

[–] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 1 day ago

This is what collapse of a society/civilization looks like. It's not one big event like the sacking of rome, it's the cultural norms eroded. Vigilante/militia actions becoming more and more common is a classic sign.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Wasnt the trump shooter MAGA and they shut the fuck up? How do they know the shooter here isnt a disgruntled right wing nut?

Ew, there's an Elon in the bottom-right corner trying to be relevant. He knows he was exiled from the Republican Party and lost most of his standing with the right for going against Trump, right?
