Alternate headline: Nancy Mace manages to direct the focus away from Epstein’s survivors to herself.

[–] mateofeo85@lemmy.world 23 points 5 days ago

Like the kid who cries when it’s someone else’s birthday.

"I feel the immense pain of how hard all victims are fighting for themselves because we know absolutely no one will fight for us. GOD BLESS ALL SURVIVORS."

Will she fight for them, or will her GOP affiliation win out?

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 91 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Remember: when a Republican prays for the victims of something or god-blesses someone, it's a signal that they won't do anything more.

[–] octopus_ink@slrpnk.net 33 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Yep. Her performative involvement is done.

I'm really starting to wonder if this is the issue that reminded MTG she's a human being though.

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 43 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (5 children)

MTG isn't a human being. She's trash-incarnate. But the conspiracy theory rot in her brain is stronger than her loyalty to Trump.

Make no mistake: she doesn't give a shit about the Epstein victims. All she cares about he exposing the deep-state or whatever nonsense she believes in. It just so happens that it makes her appear on the right side of the issue for once. But she's on the right side for the wrong reasons.

[–] octopus_ink@slrpnk.net 14 points 5 days ago

This is actually much more plausible than my theory. Thanks for the reminder! :D

She is the Jewish space lasers lady right? It was either her or Boebert I think

She's trash incarnate, alright. She's far more intentionally manipulative than people realize, I'd wager. Convinced herself she clever, so she is obsessed with scheming...even though her brain is just a rotten pile of mush.

Majorie Taylor Green is an example of someone who grew up in the right wing grifter pushing consipiracy theory media. We can thank people like Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch, Andrew Breitbart, etc.

All these fucks knew that they were pushing bullshit conspiracy theories and they didn't care. It made them rich.

Well now, all those people who grew up listening to those grifters are now in positions of power. They don't know it was a grift, they all think that shit is real.

MtG seems smart enough to understand the game she is playing and how to profit on it.

"Now that I've had a good cry and feel better, it's time for us all to move on. That's why I know you'll support me -- no, us -- in today's vote to ensure parental rights and abortion prevention measures for rapists whose criminal acts resulted in pregnancy."

Fascism can not be cured with logic or empathy.

If it could, it wouldn't exist in the first place.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 35 points 5 days ago (1 children)

This turd in a skin suit deserves every feeling she gets for the heinous shit she has done. However, she will do nothing other than thoughts and prayers.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 1 points 5 days ago

thoughts and prayers = oh well

[–] Kwyjibo1@lemmy.myserv.one 23 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Don't fall for it. She is right back supporting Taco Tits. She is a soulless ghoul.

Hot take: Nancy Mace is possessed by the foulest of demons and her „panic attack" was her true self temporarily emerging.

[–] jimjam5@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Taco tits! 🤣 Do you happen to listen to the “I’ve had it podcast”?

[–] ShoeThrower@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (6 children)

Disparaging a victim of sexual assault because they had an emotional reaction to hearing the stories of other victims is not okay because you disagree with their politics. It is monstrous and vile, and the others in this thread should be ashamed.

Yeah she sucks, but god damn.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago

I get where you’re coming from, but she’s actively propping up the rapist from a position of power.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 16 points 4 days ago

She's still defending the rapists, so....

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Fuck that she'd leverage it if she could. Fuck the high road or any decency with theae cunts.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Fuck this "go high" shit, I don't care how someone suffers if they deserve to

No deserves be sexually assaulted or raped

[–] klugerama@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I partially agree - of course no one should disparage a victim for an honest reaction. However,

  1. her one recorded reaction on one day doesn't align with the months of hateful shit she spews and literally defending SA perpetrators, so it honestly doesn't seem authentic.

  2. being an SA victim doesn't give you a pass for life to be a piece of shit.

It's really hard to have empathy for a person who exhibits none themselves. She seems less human. The schadenfreude of her suffering is a lot easier when it's someone who has themselves deliberately caused so much suffering.

I mean, not to overplay an analogy, but when a mass shooter is killed nobody says "I hope they didn't suffer."

[–] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Fuck her. She's an evil piece of shit.

[–] BMW_stick@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Thoughts & prayers, Nancy.
