Yes, but correlation is not causation.
I believe it's more due to overexposure to the concept. Knowing that you can deep fry the big bad evil guy in a fucking tanning bed kind of de-escalates the threat level.
Not sure on that one, but those meep meep guys did NOT make me less scared of aliens!
The Count was actually pretty scary [for a kids show] in the early years. They toned him down later, but in 1972 he was still frightening for kids.
Count Chocula probably helped.
Not even close. A night stalking Vampire that will suck your blood out of your body. Versus a puppet?
I mean, is Mad Jack Churchill made less scary by the existence of Mr Bean, just because they're both Englishmen?
