He's just saying the quiet part out loud though. This was always the rule.

Yes. Now we need to convince his followers he does this with everything so they stop insisting he means XYZ instead of what he said. We are doomed.

Right? I'm sure the CIA has software backdoors in there for just the same event.

I'm sure if our former allies were smart or able to, they would look for and clean those

So once it stops phoning home then the backup backdoor is used to disable the jet in some way? Is that too paranoid?

I'm just theory crafting. They could do a lot of things. They could have a throttle governor that prevents it from getting top speed, or a delay on firing by a few milliseconds or whatever

By the time we're selling this jet for export, we'll be flying the next jet in public and the one after that out at Groom Lake.

Not everything gets tested at Groom Lake. There's also the Lakehurst skunk works.

Planning to backstab your friends means you aren't a very good friend.

Expecting your friends to backstab you means you know you aren't a good friend.

With Boeing making this jet I don't think it's going to be an issue.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 13 points 2 days ago

In this context, toned down means the hatches are ripped out pre flight.

It's impossible to tell if he actually said this or not.

Hard to blame you considering the dystopian waking nightmare we live in.

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

To be honest, they're not really our allies now. He's made sure of that.

Russia, North Korea... the usual.

This isn’t new. If a foreign country buys F35s they can only buy certain spare parts from the US.

Did they brag about it to 8 billion people?

My caption to this could have been "A self fulfilling prophecy".
