This method also works for display resolution names like WHKLWXD which is 4k but with six extra pixels on the left side.

Just use the same common encoding and postfix it with the brand name (or prefix, depends on what you like to sort)

And goose eggs are also way better than chicken eggs for a lot of pastry.

Especially for large sizes. Also speed isn't really much of an issue on a domestic network.

I'm about to build a home server with a lot of storage (relatively, around 6 or 8 times 12 TB as a ballpark), and I didn't even consider anything other than spinning drives so far.

Fourty minutes? Yeah, no. How about an equivalent text that can be parsed in five?

It's not a real hard disk unless you can get it to walk across the server room anyway.

That's a WORM medium though, so really purely for storage. Which is still extremely useful of course.

That's good to know. I'm using digikam, but I'm always interested in options
