this is the admin of rape and sexual assault.

Being Conservative and being Christian aren't compatible ideologies. You can follow the teachings of Jesus or be conservative, you can't do both.

[–] dustyData@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

This assumes that Christian means "follow the teachings of Jesus Christ". Unfortunately Christianity has never meant that. Even less in the US since Billy Graham.

God has an oddly ironic and dark sense of humor, I'd be worried that heaven is a massive monkeypaw situation.

When's the last time a Drag Queen hurt anybody? I don't remember any incidents.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago

June 28, 1969 Marsha and a few friends really hurt the fee fees of some fascist losers by having the audacity to stand up for themselves.

Thats the only thing I can come up with.

Rest in power Marsha.

2008, Hess Village, a drag queen told me "you know clothes come in colours now, right?" It wasn't even part of a set — I was just walking on the sidewalk.

I believe in democracy. We should have Drag Presidents or Drag Prime Ministers instead IMO.

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

That’s dragocracy. Still, better than what the USA has now.

Most famous one I have in recent memory was Sherry Pie, lied to a bunch of young gay men saying he was auditioning for something and coerced them into recording themselves doing sexual actions.

Not the worst thing in the world but still is a pretty awful thing to do to others

Edit; probably important to note that he did this out of drag, his drag persona was not involved at all (iirc)

[–] Tujio@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I grabbed a drink with a buddy a couple weeks ago at a bar that happened to be having Drag Bingo. The host kinda guilt-tripped me for not playing. That's about the worst interaction I've ever had with a Queen.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 66 points 1 day ago

Hey look, another not a drag queen.

It’s always the ones you most expect.

So this guy faced 8 counts, with a maximum sentence of 10 years each. He pled guilty to 2 counts in exchange for getting the other six dropped. he's gonna go for some psych evaluation, maybe spend some time in jail, maybe not. He left his cushy gig, but I'm sure in a few months he will go on a public speaking tour about how repentant he is, the board will talk about how God always gives second chances, and he'll get back pretty much everything.

Meanwhile, there are immigrants who are being tossed out of the country by this administration for much more minor offenses committed 10 or 20 years ago (which they already paid the price for). They have been following all the rules since then, and now we decide we don't want them here anymore, and they lose everything they built here.

I think our values are all out of whack here.

US morals have always been out of wack/hypocritical

US declaration of Independence: Freedom

US constitution: 3/5 clause implicitly allowed slavery

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It did…. And it still does

Note the exception clause:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.[1]

If this surprises you even a little, I don’t know how to help you.

[–] arin@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

It's still surprising because we still allow these conservatives near children

[–] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago

Conservative Christianity is the most glaring sign that someone is likely a pedophile. I'm not surprised in the slightest.

[–] misteloct@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 1 day ago

Onion article incoming: "John Doe, former CEO of Eternal Love, not found to have any child porn in his possession. Police were astonished to find a squeaky clean hard drive in his office..."

[–] MisterOwl@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (4 children)

What is it with Christians and pedophilia?

[–] MJKee9@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

As someone who grew up in a fundamentalist Christian household, and have been around a lot of "Christians," i think many of them become so fiercely religious because they think it will help them overcome "sinful" tendencies. For example, my father liked to drink and fight in his twenties. Around the time I was born he became fiercely religious. I've always assumed that was because he wanted to clean up his life to be a better dad. He stopped drinking but he found plenty of people to fight in his own house ....

at this point I'm just waiting for that Australian org that's currently making a stink about porn games to be revealed to be run by a bunch of pedos.

[–] Brutticus@midwest.social 14 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Is there a slur for christians? There really needs to be one

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago

I just call them Christians. Their own reputation turned their name into a slur

Well, they really are constantly thinking of the children...

[–] Deadeyegai@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

I knew exactly where this was going. It's like these people all have something in common....

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 11 points 1 day ago (4 children)

There is so much variety in pornography available in the world today, why of all things would you delve in to that genre as a conservative Christian. Why are they never like, tree fucking priests? It's always the kids!

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Stupid sexy trees.

https://julieroys.com/former-ceo-my-faith-votes-charged-possession-child-sex-abuse-material/

...according to a probable cause statement filed in the case, the former CEO, Jason Yates, has a prior conviction for a similar charge, which was expunged.

The organization in question's top news item is apparently complaining about pedophiles:

https://www.myfaithvotes.org/

So-Called 'Equality Act' Could Undo Free Speech, Mandate Murder Of Unborn Children, Make Pedophiles A 'Protected Class'

A bill positioned as the "Equality Act" is gradually moving its way through Congress, and is designed to "crush moral decency and religious freedom beneath the feet of the radical LGBT & Q lobby," says experts.

That's actually kind of impressive.

[–] tal@lemmy.today 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I think this might be apropos here:

Matthew 7:3-5:

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?  How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

I’ve looked at porn before and I have uh, wandered across some crazy stuff where I’m like okay, I did not want to see this… I always wonder if these folks are being accused of finding that stuff, but if they are saving it on their computer it seems weird… I don’t really save porn on my computer anyways… unless I find something super classy or sexy maybe, but even then most likely not, and if it’s that classy it’s probably not even technically ‘porn’….. anyways, Just thinking out loud I guess….quietly

Part of me wishes there was a legitimate way to report questionable porn that didn’t involve morality police who think all porn is inherently bad….. (edit: no part of me wants that job lol, just to be clear, oh god those poor workers who have to do that shit)

But also, why does it always seem to be these guys who are extremely vocal about being anti porn and super puritanical… Jesus h Christ… literally…

Makes me wonder about the current speaker of the house…

The Pope looked smug. It was the Protestants this time around.

Oh, wow. I’m so shocked I could power a dim bulb for about two seconds.

[–] notsure@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago

...why is fucking kids not a roadstop to being a leader?...

[–] cley_faye@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Wew, thank god we have people pushing against immoral video games and books, that'll help protect kids from actual christian pedophiles. /s

The only surprising thing is that there are so many people who know about these people and say nothing.
