Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

False dichotomy. A cookie can be chewy without being melty.

Right, that's their point. Chocolate chip cookies can be made to be chewy when cold instead of crunchy, in which case they're still much better than crunchy chocolate chip cookies.

That's your opinion and it's wrong

i make cookies all the time and the key is to cook them for 2 minutes less than the recipe calls for because they'll keep cooking when you take them out and they'll be just the right about of gooey and soft <3

What's a melty cookie? Like temperature warm so the chocolate is melting?

Agree to disagree.

Crunchy is fine as long as there's a generous amount of chunky chocolate chips.

I passionately disagree. Crunchy can be dunked

Then it's a biscuit (UK style).

I feel this in my core! Like this shit is legit resonating with me.

~~Why not both? Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside.~~

Edit: wait what do you mean by melty cookie

The idea cookie is the Subway double chocolate chip, microwaved for 7 seconds.

Warm gooey chunks with a crisp rim. The best of all worlds.

Honestly Subway should give up on their C- tier sandwiches and focus on what they do well.

I sometimes deliberately leave them to sit in the open for a day or so. Makes them less crunchy.

my favorite is a crispy one that for some reason seemed associated with christmass.

Still better than oatmeal raisin.
