“We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine,” the duo said on Instagram. “A machine whose own soldiers were told to use ‘unnecessary lethal force’ against innocent civilians waiting for aid. A machine that has destroyed much of Gaza. We, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story. And whatever sanctions we receive will be a distraction.”

There is no backlash. It's manufactured outrage by Zionists and their puppets in media and politics.

[–] EndlessApollo@lemmy.world 22 points 9 hours ago

That's probably true of most things people think/say about the IDF at this point. Even my massively zionist "most moral military" aunt is calling it a genocide and is starting to oppose them

I’m certainly in favor of seeing the IDF in prison. Bring on more chants.

[–] leftthegroup@lemmings.world 2 points 5 hours ago

No, the change is right. They need to die.

You know I’d never heard of these guys until the outrage and I’ve been listening all day and I’m quite a fan.

Also, if you shouted death to Hitler in the ‘40s would you be getting this backlash too.

Among the Axis countries yes.

Even among the allied countries, yes.

There was still a lot of people who were afraid of offending Hitler/Germany at the time.

While at war with them?

It's more interesting to ask if " Death to Hitler" would have got you this reaction in the 30s. By the 40s we were at war with him and his followers. In the 30s he was in power, but there were still diplomatic relations.

Haha, no. You underestimate the power antisemitism has always had in the US

Jack Kirby was threatened for drawing Captain America punching Hitler. The difference back then was the mayor of NYC pot a protection detail on the Marvel offices instead of coming out to bat for Hitler.

The IDF are Nazis and committing genocide daily.

People chanting: “Death, death to the IDF!!” Is the bare minimum repercussion that’s to be expected. More people should join in!

Anyone defending or censoring for the IDF if a fucking goose stepping fascist.

So their US visas got revoked. Meh. Who needs to go to the US anyway, who needs to be interrogated by some fascist chode at the border.

[–] supamanc@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Sadly, they will probably be convicted of some sort of hate speech and sent down.

As someone in another post commented: Streisand effect. I never heard of these guys until now.

The genocide apologists are going to have a lot of egg on their face. They just keep digging themselves a deeper and deeper hole. History is written by the victors, but the younger generations have the last word. And history will not be kind.

Bob vylan doesn't have to say it. The trump administration said it to the world they would do this

[–] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Could someone with better search skills or knowledge of their discography link to their music for me? I’ve heard it’s good but I legitimately can’t find anything but news videos when I go looking (I don’t use any music handler platforms)

Start with their second album, We Live Here. It's got some incredible, visceral punk on it. The Price of Life, and Humble As the Sun are top notch, but a touch more polished.
