This isn't the first you're hearing about this is it? The court documents are on CourtListener. Law&Crime Network did a video about it too:

Seems likely to be arson but guess we'll have to wait & see.

People keep underestimating the power of disinformation and how quickly it takes root, but how even harder it is to deprogram.

Disinformation is powerful. But is it just antivax & flat earth? Biden's cognitive issues were apparent long before the debate. Do you remember when Republicans were calling on the DoJ to release audio of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. Hur, in his report, concluded that Biden should not face criminal charges over his mishandling of documents but also impugned the president’s age and competence. Republicans argued that it would at least show proof of serious cognitive decline which was important to know about the President.

What did Democrats do at the time? They ran cover for Biden. They claimed he was young & dynamic behind the scenes like the Wizard of Oz. Karine Jean-Pierre lied time & time again. Merrick Garland ignored a subpoena & was held in contempt. All leading up to the debate where Biden's cognitive decline was so obvious that he was later basically forced to drop out because everyone realized they had been lied to. At a time of a fascist potentially getting elected as they claimed, Biden & his team decided to lie to you which ultimately helped Trump significantly. Now imagine a different scenario where the audio got released much sooner, the people found out much sooner & a new candidate was picked to replace Biden much sooner.

The point is that disinformation goes both ways. Having an authority to declare what is true/untrue provides a centralized system for a fascist then use to control what is true/false. Now there are some avenues that you could take if you wanted to. You could study law & find justification to bring a case against Musk for manipulating social media. You could get to discovery & provide evidence, and get a court to even make a ruling requiring that every time someone visits X they get a notice about what was determined. But deciding what people can/can't see cause you don't think they can decide for themselves I believe sets too dangerous of prescedent.

But if one can do it without being caught or attacked, like the two people who punched Richard Spenser, then it is an effective way to counter the rise of Nazism.

All this does is bolster fascism. Punching people for being non-violent fuels their world views, not help them trust yours. Maybe engage in some peaceful discourse. You're actually the one instigating violence here. You have the same attitude of cops shooting unarmed people.

Education hasn’t worked seeing how fascism has successfully taken hold through american social media, and no transparency over algorithms.

This is because the very same people that were pro-oligarchy were previously seen by the left as being friendlies that they should entrust because of their big dollar donations. It is time to take money out of politics. I didn't say you shouldn't regulate social media, especially transparency of the code & algorithms.

And it’s not like only dumb uneducated people who have been lured into it. Those with educated backgrounds are just as easily influenced. That there are antivax nurses tells you everything there is to know about how effective education is.

I've known plenty of dumb nurses even before the pandemic. I've known alcoholic ones, drug-addicted ones, etc. To blame it on social media is ignoring everything else. Let's not forget the number of nurses & even doctors that believe in a magical sky creature controlling what happens on Earth.

The point of my post is that some of the loudest proponents of free speech have ulterior motives. No more, but definitely no less.

You've provided no supporting evidence of this. The loudest, or most successful supporters, appear to have been Jewish attorneys that advocated & won cases on free speech allowing even Nazis to gather, march, speak, etc. Are you suggesting these Jews were actually crypto-Nazis in disguise? Your title indicates you're referring to Nazis in particular.

I don't think banning things is the right approach. That is censorship & bolsters fascism, not stop it. Education is the most important. If you're worried about misinformation, then educate people about it.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I hate to admit it but seeing your post about IQ and then say, "I'm not going to sugar code it" had me laughing. People grow & change, and each person has their own talents. I am on the higher end of IQ but at the same time I struggle a lot with friendships. I have a hard time doing tasks that I see as menial like laundry, dishes, etc. I also struggle with a lot of artistic or creative tasks. My kids' mom even though we're not together anymore, she definitely would have been on the lower end. However, in many ways she's managed to do a lot more than me. She's able to make friends easier. She is able to conform to society and just gets things done that I struggle with. She also is very creative when it comes to projects & decorating. IQ is just a number, unless you're under like 55. Often relationships are about finding people that balance you out too. I could never date someone that is a lot like me. I get on my own nerves.

A recent event led me to fact check something that I thought must be untrue, which is that Ukraine conscripts people into the military against their will, including making those people that had previously fulfilled their obligations return to the battlefield.

Moreso, when browsing X recently I saw bunch of videos being posted of what claimed were police forcing people into vans to go fight in Ukraine. The police were beating these people in the process. Now, it is possible that some of this content is propaganda, but I did want to find out if Ukraine forces conscription.

It appears that it is true:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Ukraine

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/lacking-manpower-ukraine-resorts-to-harsh-means-to-force-draft-dodgers-into-combat

I am very much against conscription. I still support Ukraine's independence, but the fact that they are forcing people to fight through beatings, arrests, etc. is sickening to me and makes me lose respect for Zelensky. According to an estimate by Ukrainian commanders, 50% to 70% of Ukrainian conscripts are killed or wounded in their first few days in combat on some areas of the front.

What are others thoughts on this?

Since “President” Musk isn’t even an elected government official and has a history of drug abuse, erratic behavior, narcissism, and child abuse… why won’t Democrats try to get one of the federal judges they appointed to issue an involuntary psych hold on him, like on a Friday evening… where they have him get drug tested & evaluated to see if he should be breaking into classified government systems, or if he’s been fueling up on ketamine again & snorting the addy’s or coke with his daddy role model.

Federal judges are lifetime appointments. The only people that can remove them are Congress & it requires impeachment with 2/3 just like the President. Essentially, if Democrats agree on this, there is no way the judge will get impeached as a result.
