They honestly make me more upset than the “die hards.”

Dave smith (Rogan buddy) apologizing and claiming he thought Trump was anti-war?? You believed a CERTIFIABLE liar???

TikTok mom influencers coming out and saying they regret it only after their fathers are deported and then asking for go fund donations for lawyers?? HE CAMPAIGNED ON MASS DEPORTATION.

They make me sick and I have little to no empathy.

I know that in order for our country to move forward there has to be some level of trying to gather these people to progressive voting in the future but my gosh- I may not be best suited for that effort. How in the heck can anyone talk to these people with a straight face??

Their admissions only make me want to scream in their face that they’re utter morons and embarrassments.

(Yes this is a rant post. End rant)

I get it, but if you alienate someone starting to regret joining a suicide cult, they'll go back to the cult.

You can still feel how you do about them, while pointing helpfully to the long road to sanity.

Feels to me like the types OP is referring to are realizing that lots of other people think they're shitty, and are unconsciously trying to distance themselves from that, without actually acknowledging that they were (are?) wrong.

It's the tiniest of steps in the right direction, but it's primarily still self-serving. "I still hate brown people, but I don't want you to hate me."

For the most part, they go back to the cult anyway is the problem. If you point at sanity, a lot are gonna say, "that's just what the liberals want!" and go the opposite way even if it is blatantly stupid.

What we have to teach is empathy before we can consider someone having truly changed from their socially conservative ways. I'll let them in the door, if they want to try to see that attacks on other marginalized groups are also attacks on themselves. You can't just pretend to think differently only when the consequences arrive.

What pisses me off is that so many of those people still support whatever the cause is, they think he's "just going about it the wrong way". Like they're fine with the tariffs or deportations or whatever, just that they thought it would be done with more consideration or process or something.

And you know they'll vote for anyone else promising the same thing, and delude themselves that "next time it'll be done right". Fuck all of them.

I regret voting for a narcissistic psychopathic pathologically lying convicted criminal who can't stop sexually assaulting women

Well...

Better late than never, I guess? Good for you, but dude(tte) you seriously need to do some introspection here. You're definitely not as smart as you think you are, you're definitely too confident and loud, and you judge others for crimes you likely commit yourself.

You really will want to look beyond your little circle. There is a huge world out there with so many good people!

Most I talk to say they're getting what they voted for and they're still happy.
