If you aren't already boycotting these organizations, it's time to start! These are the corporate sponsors for Trump's military parade on 6/14.

Why does a Military Parade have sponsors? Who receives that money?

Do they have to drop off the check there?

The USA is for sale. Mining rights, soon to be failed postal system, call centers, weather forecasting. It's all gotta go and you can own a piece for just a million dollars and the nastiest fellatio you've ever been a part of.

Someone in another thread thought that Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen should have a concert across town at the same time. I think this is the best idea. They would have to bring all of their own protection though, I wouldn't trust DC police.

Lmao I love when I'm already entirely divested.

Also fuck Microsoft. I know it's not relevant, but still.

They should hold it in Baltimore, so Trump can't claim the traffic in DC was for his event.

In a world where everything can be linked, how are citations still not the norm

I want every unironic Capitalist to see this and reflect on their system. Is this "democracy"? Was this worth all the resources spent to conquer Communism? Was this worth the United States being the "world police"? Is Capitalism really worth defending?

I agree. Regardless of anyone's opinion on communism, everyone should just look at this and see how absolutely dire it is. This is textbook advanced capitalism, in all it's dystopian glory. Huge corporations in bed with the military industrial complex. It's a thousand shades of fucked up.

This is stupid. There's no clear lines between capitism and communism, irl with regulations, shit always lands somewhere in the middle. If we look strictly at quality of life, capitalist-leaning countries win easily, even for the poorer countries (excluding the ones with actual slavery ofc).

Communism won't save you from fascism.

If conservatives could think critically, they'd be real mad that Trump is using their tax dollars to hold a North Korean style military parade.

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I haven't checked but I saw that it was free to reserve spots for the parade and people were reserving spots for the lols

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

If they're getting all these corporate sponsors why are we still paying for this shit?

I'm never going to buy another product from... Checks notes Bank of New York Mellon Corporation again.

I mean, I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't think individualist boycotts are going to work on finance sector lynchpins or automotive/beverage cartels.

This is going to require more dramatic response

This is going to require more dramatic response

My overactive imagination has been feeding me images of the parade lines of tanks rotating the barrel to the grandstand as they pass and doing a little dip as a salute of sorts. And then, in the last row, bam, live round. Instant hero.

I know it's not going to happen, but a guy can dream, right?

Damn bro coke is the only one on the list that's gonna hurt to cut.

But fuck them, this shit ain't acceptable.

I wish diet coke wasn't so great

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Coke Zero is the best diet cola.

But cola itself is garbage compared to some other sodas, even cheap ones.

Polar Beverage Company (I think local to New England) has a grapefruit soda that's fucking delicious. And a cranberry one too. And they are usually <$1 for a 1-liter bottle.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Coke zero does taste more like regular coke but I've grown to prefer the taste of diet. There absolutely are many great alternatives but since I'm diabetic my options are limited. Aside from diet coke I really like Zevia and Spindrift.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah. I get that. Diet Coke has a taste uniquely of it's own. It's really unfair to consider it an alternative to Coke-proper.
