I am trying to kick Reddit, I get a lot of my Saskatchewan news from there and I am in a lot of groups so I can scroll and see things. What are some groups I can join here that are a good idea?

Become the change you wish to see; if you feel a certain group is lacking, take the initiative to create it yourself like a hobby group or a town group.

What do you truly gain from Reddit? Is it valuable local news that enhances your daily life, or is it merely a source of dopamine and cortisol spikes?
When Reddit restricted third-party apps, I went cold turkey and discovered just how little I was actually benefiting from it. Lemmy won't provide that same experience, and there's a reason for that.
