Why is there an arch that distorts the text for the image in the center? You couldn’t just make the overall image like 10 pixels longer??
I think it's because it's slightly edited from the original image, giving her a more pronounced smile and changing her eyes and the shape of her face. Maybe a cage transform or some other warping was used on too large a portion of the image after the caption was put on?

Can I get some context here? Who is this? Why do they look that way? What are those dark patches on their skin?
It's a lady from Mulholland Drive who scares a guy to death with here appearance. David Lynch films are weird.

Not quite. I am pretty sure that's the woman who kills a guy with her appearance in a david lynch film.
It is, here's the scene from Mulholland Drive. She shows up at the end.
Edit: After looking into the film more, the lady is still also Bonnie Aarons, just not in The Nun.
