They were almost completely phased out almost 25 years ago.

The 12v receptacles are still around, and you can buy the lighters, it is an option still really

Oh, I know, and thank goodness, too. Otherwise, I would not have been able to power, my iPod, and eventually, my iPhone, through the 00s

But I did notice that even the 12 V receptacles were phased out for a couple of years until they were brought back by popular demand because people are needing to power devices like phone chargers, and what not.

Well I know that at least a 2003 volvo s60 and a 2014 bmw f30 have had them :3.. or the ones I've been in did anyway lol

Sorry, I should’ve been more clear… I was just referring to the actual lighter, not the 12 V “accessory port”. Those are still pretty common.
