Donald Trump just called for civil war, violence, and suppression of freedom of speech against all liberals. What are we doing? We should be in the streets demanding that he be impeached now. Not only that, but we've gotten solid evidence of him being a pedofile. Waiting until this all dies down and more of our rights have been taken in mid October is frankly unacceptable. I will be protesting in my city, but it would be nice if there was a movement that was actually taking some action right now.

Edit with more information. To be clear, I am not in any way advocating for any kind of violence at all whatsoever, but I do think we should be peacefully protesting in response to these things and not just waiting the next quarterly parade.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/09/kirk-assassination-trump-response/684175/ There's a paywall so his words were: "For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now. My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law-enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country. From the attack on my life in Butler, Pennsylvania, last year, which killed a husband and father, to the attacks on ICE agents, to the vicious murder of a health-care executive in the streets of New York, to the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and three others, radical-left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives."

Shortly after there were a lot of posts and tweets from Republican politicians and influencers literally calling for civil war against "the left".

Trump was directly asked to deescalate to which he replied that he didn't care about dividing the country.

Bare minimum he called for violence against political opponents and did nothing to put out the fire when it got out of control.

It all died out and seems to be suddenly forgotten now that the shooter turned out to be a far right extremist. All I'm saying is that we shouldn't have to accept that and we should be speaking out.

"That guy is holding a gun and screaming he's going to shoot me. Maybe if I just hold up a sign, or walk up to him and politely ask him to stop that'll stop him from being so loud and annoying."
