I haven't tested this with my parents (I mean I'm not gonna commit a crime just to test their reaction lol), but the vibes I'm getting is that they don't care as long as (1) it's not homicide against innocent people, and (2) I'm not using drugs, and (3) I don't get caught doing it (because they'll "lose face" or something)

Like I talk about digital piracy and they're like: "cool, save a lot of money, very smart", if it was shoplifting, they'd worry about me getting caught, not the legal/moral implications, same as if I were to, hypothetically, commit tax fraud, they don't give a shit lol. Which, despite how shitty and abusive my parents are and I very hate them for most things, I kinda do appreciate the fact that they just have zero respect for the law lol

I mean like... they won't talk, but if they feel like they're gonna get in trouble, they will definitely throw me under the bus

P.S. Don't confess your crimes here, this is about a hypothetical situation.

you named a crime, I could name a family member.

Rape?

They'd probably start recommending criminal defense attorneys.

LMAO!

Third oldest Cousin from my second oldest aunt: Sexual assault of a minor

Technically rape, as she was too young to consent, and he was way to old to not know better.

Pretty much every family has one... I helped my grandmother do our family geneology. We got as far back as 4 brothers from Germany who were forced to leave England and come to the US because one of them had rape accusations.

Before that, all the records were in German so that's as far as we got. Johann Braunwart, died Duchess County, New York, 1620.
